Abstract Halide perovskites, in the form of thin films and colloidal nanocrystals, have recently taken semiconductor optoelectronics research by storm, emerged as promising candidates for high‐performance solar cells, light‐emitting diodes (LEDs), lasers, photodetectors, radiation detectors. The impressive optical optoelectronic properties, along with rapid increase efficiencies cells LEDs, greatly attracted researchers across many disciplines. However, most advances made so far terms preparation (colloidal nanocrystals films), devices highest are based on Pb‐based halide which raised concerns over their commercialization due to toxicity Pb. This has triggered search lower‐toxicity Pb‐free perovskites led significant progress last few years. In this roadmap review, different expertise joined together summarize latest progress, outstanding challenges, future directions perovskite regarding synthesis, spectroscopy, devices, guide currently working area well those that will join field future.

High-performance X-ray scintillators with low detection limits and high light yield are of great importance a challenge for low-dose imaging in medical diagnosis industrial detection. In this work, the synthesis new 2D perovskite, Cs2 CdBr2 Cl2 , via hydrothermal reaction is reported. By doping Mn2+ into yellow emission located at 593 nm obtained, photoluminescence quantum (PLQY) :5%Mn2+ perovskite reaches highest value 98.52%. The near-unity PLQY negligible self-absorption enable excellent scintillation performance 64 950 photons MeV-1 limit 17.82 nGyair s-1 . Moreover, combining poly(dimethylsiloxane) to fabricate flexible scintillator screen achieves resolution 12.3 line pairs (lp) mm-1 results suggest that promising candidate high-resolution imaging. study presents approach designing high-performance through metal-ion doping.

Lead-free halide double perovskite, as one of the promising candidates for lead perovskite materials, shows great potential in light-emitting diodes (LEDs), benefiting from its environmental friendliness and high chemical stability. However, poor regulation emission spectra severely limits application range. Herein, various lanthanide ions were successfully doped Cs2NaScCl6 single crystals (DPSCs) to yield effective stable emissions spanning visible near-infrared (NIR) regions. Notably, efficient energy transfer host dopants enables tunable with good chromaticity, which is rarely reported field lead-free perovskite. Moreover, density functional theory calculations reveal that local electron around [LnCl6]3- octahedron DPSCs plays a key role improvement photoluminescence quantum yields (PLQYs). The optimal PLQYs are up 84%, increases 3 times over undoped sample. Finally, multicolor NIR LEDs based on Ln3+-doped fabricated had different functions. Specifically, single-composite white LED adjustable coordinates correlated color temperatures, while night vision imaging. This work provides new inspiration multifunctional materials.

Abstract The double perovskite material of Cs 2 NaRECl 6 ‐type, utilizing rare‐earth (RE) ions as trivalent element, has attracted widespread interest due to its unique optoelectronic properties and wide range applications. It displays rich optical properties, including visible infrared light emission through down‐shifting, well up‐conversion radiation‐induced emission. These exceptional make it a promising for devices such detectors, light‐emitting diodes, lasers energy storage batteries but also show advantages in anti‐counterfeiting technology imaging. In this article, the latest progress is reported challenges crystal structure, preparation, performance, various applications lead‐free halide (HLDPs) compounds. This outline prospective research directions existing materials, with aim facilitating discovery new HLDPs materials.

Abstract Lead halide perovskite nanocrystals (NCs) have recently drawn considerable attention in the fields of materials science and nanotechnology. However, a major drawback these NCs is reliance on toxic lead, which hinders widespread application. Herein, new class lead‐free NCs, that is, lanthanide double (Ln‐DP) with f‐orbital‐induced optical properties, introduced. The Pr‐, Ce‐, Tb‐, Eu‐, Sm‐, Yb‐based Ln‐DP display narrow d→f f→f emissions ranging from UV‐C to near‐infrared spectral region. Experimental data calculations reveal emissive exhibit small molecule‐like electronic absorptions: f→d atomic transitions or ligand‐to‐metal charge transfer transitions. Last, it demonstrated by alloying Ln compositions DP unique improved properties can be obtained. These are promising for sensing lighting, as components optoelectronic and/or magneto‐fluorescent devices.

The rising demand for portable near-infrared (NIR) light sources has accelerated the exploration of NIR luminescent materials with high efficiency and excellent thermal stability. Inspired by structural-modulated ion substitution strategy, herein, a high-performance Cs2KIn0.8Al0.1F6:0.1Cr3+ phosphor peak at 794 nm full width half-maximum (fwhm) 117 was successfully synthesized introducing Al3+ ions. performance is reflected in its internal quantum (IQE) 88.06% good quenching resistance (I423K = 71.64%). Compared initial Cs2KInF6:0.1Cr3+, IQE stability are improved 16.67% 72.54%, which stem from enhanced crystallinity strengthened structural rigidity. Finally, phosphor-converted light-emitting diode (pc-LED) superior photoelectric (21.04%@320 mA) fabricated. Meanwhile, pupil tracking, anticounterfeiting, intelligent identification, bioimaging were demonstrated. This work provides new perspectives synthesizing efficient fluoride phosphors designing diverse applications.

Abstract Single‐source white‐light emitters are highlighted with stable color and excellent rendering ability, which can largely simplify the white‐light‐emitting‐diode (WLED) structure. All‐inorganic lead‐free double perovskites have attracted extensive research interest provide versatile doping sites to accommodate extrinsic multi‐valent ions. Herein, synthesis tunable emission of Sb 3+ –Ln ‐codoped Cs 2 NaYCl 6 single crystals (SCs) is reported. Particularly, bright a high photoluminescence quantum yield 80.5% yielded in 0.5%Sb –2%Tb –2%Sm SCs. Steady‐state (PL) time‐resolved PL spectra employed reveal energy transfer from ‐induced self‐trapped excitons Ln Temperature‐dependent further demonstrate that fluorescence intensity ratio band 657 590 nm highly dependent on temperature, relative sensitivity reaches maximum up 1.59% K −1 at 260 K. Moreover, WLED based ‐2%Tb ‐2%Sm SCs delivers higher average index 87 than ‐0.8%Tb ‐2.5%Ho (74.6). The outstanding white‐light‐emission performance together temperature dependence confers huge application potential solid‐state lighting ratiometric optical thermometry.

Halide perovskites have attracted considerable interest due to their excellent photoelectric properties. In this study, we synthesized Sb3+-doped Cs2NaTbCl6 using a solvothermal method investigate its tunable properties and low toxicity. Upon Sb3+ ion doping, the photoluminescence yield (PLQY) of significantly increased from ∼1.7 ∼47%. The introduced ions with ns2 electronic configuration expanded rare-earth element's absorption cross section, broke intrinsic forbidden transitions, suppressed nonradiative recombination. Additionally, codoping Mn2+ facilitated efficient energy transfer, resulting in highly photoluminescence. PLQY 1%Sb3+,3%Mn2+:Cs2NaTbCl6 reached remarkable 85.8%, marking highest reported value for double visible light region. This study highlights vital role Sb(III) doping as bridging agent enhance emission perovskites.
