Abstract: Inflammation is a beneficial and physiological process, but there are number of inflammatory diseases which have detrimental effects on the body. In addition, drugs used to treat inflammation toxic side when over long period time. Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) pluripotent that can be isolated from variety tissues differentiate into diverse cell types under appropriate conditions. They also exhibit noteworthy anti-inflammatory properties, providing new options for treatment diseases. The therapeutic potential MSCs currently being investigated various diseases, such as kidney injury, lung osteoarthritis (OA), rheumatoid arthritis (RA), bowel disease (IBD). perform multiple functions, including immunomodulation, homing, differentiation, enable damaged form balanced regenerative microenvironment severe accumulated evidence indicates exosomes extracellular vesicles (MSC-Exos) play an extraordinary role, mainly by transferring their components recipient cells. this review, we summarize mechanism clinical trials MSC-Exos in detail, with view contributing Keywords: mesenchymal cells, exosome, clinic data, drug delivery, targeted therapy

Vaccines are proving to be highly effective in controlling hospitalization and deaths associated with severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) infection, as shown by clinical trials real-world evidence. However, a deadly second wave of disease 2019 (COVID-19), infected SARS-CoV-2 variants, especially the Delta (B.1.617.2) variant, an increased number post-vaccination breakthrough infections were reported world recently. Actually, variant not only resulted surge vaccine which was accompanied high viral load transmissibility, but also challenged development vaccines. Therefore, biological characteristics epidemiological profile current status mechanism discussed this article. In addition, significant role spike (S) protein immune escape highlighted particular, we further key points on future research development, hoping make contribution early, accurate rapid control COVID-19 epidemic.

The study of host specificity has important connections to the question about origin SARS-CoV-2 in humans which led COVID-19 pandemic-an open question. There are speculations that bats a possible origin. Likewise, there many closely related (corona)viruses, such as SARS, was found be transmitted through civets. different hosts can potential carriers and transmitters deadly viruses is crucial understanding, mitigating, preventing current future pandemics. In coronaviruses, surface (S) protein, or spike determining specificity, since it point contact between virus cell membrane. this paper, we classify over five thousand coronaviruses from their protein sequences, segregating them into clusters distinct among birds, bats, camels, swine, humans, weasels, name few. We propose feature embedding based on well-known position weight matrix (PWM), call PWM2Vec, use generate vectors sequences these coronaviruses. While our inspired by success PWMs biological applications, function identifying transcription factor binding sites, first (to best knowledge) viral fixed-length vector representations, context classification. results real world data show when using machine learning classifiers able perform comparably baseline models terms predictive performance runtime-in some cases, better. also measure importance amino acids information gain for predicting given coronavirus. Finally, statistical analyses more compact than embeddings models.

Abnormal inflammatory mediator concentrations during SARS-CoV-2 infection may represent disease severity. We aimed to assess plasma in patients with Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. In this study, 260 adults: 126 hospitalized confirmed COVID-19 sorted into severity groups: severe (n=68) and mild or moderate (n=58), 134 healthy controls were enrolled. quantified 39 mediators using multiplex ELISA. Spearman rank correlation Mann-Whitney U test used identify mechanistically coupled compare Compared controls, had significantly higher levels of interleukins 1α, 2, 6, 7, 8, 10 15, C-reactive protein (CRP), serum amyloid A (SAA), intercellular adhesion molecule 1 (ICAM-1), vascular cell (VCAM-1), IFN-γ-inducible protein-10 (IP-10, CXCL10), macrophage protein-1 alpha (MIP-1α, CCL3), eotaxin-3 (CCL26), interferon-gamma (IFN-γ), tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α), basic fibroblast growth factor (bFGF), placental (PlGF), fms-like tyrosine kinase (Flt-1). Patients IL-10 lower macrophage-derived chemokine (MDC, CCL22) compared the group ( P<0.05 ). receiver operating characteristic curve, SAA, IL-6 CRP showed strong sensitivity specificity predicting prognosis COVID-19. Greater age a significant association Our findings reveal that CRP, VCAM-1, CXCL10, CCL22 are promising biomarkers for severity, suggesting could be as warning indicators aid treatment.

In the context of precision medicine, disease treatment requires individualized strategies based on underlying molecular characteristics to overcome therapeutic challenges posed by heterogeneity. For this purpose, it is essential develop new biomarkers diagnose, stratify, or possibly prevent diseases. Plasma an available source that greatly reflects physiological and pathological conditions body. An increasing number studies are focusing proteins peptides, including many involving Human Proteome Project (HPP) Organization (HUPO), proteomics peptidomics techniques emerging as critical tools for developing novel medicine preventative measures. Excitingly, plasma toolbox exhibits a huge potential studying pathogenesis diseases (e.g., COVID-19 cancer), identifying valuable improving clinical management. However, enormous complexity wide dynamic range makes proteome profiling challenging. Herein, we summarize recent advances in with focus their roles cancer research, aiming emphasize significance applications medicine.

The outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic has left clinicians around world searching for viable prevention and treatment options to use against virus. important physiologic properties vitamin C have been well documented regarding its by immune cells role as an antioxidant. It previously shown potential a prophylactic option other respiratory viruses, because this, there intrigue into whether these positive outcomes translate cost-effective COVID-19. To this point, only few clinical trials performed assess validity notion, with very showing definitive when incorporated or protocols coronavirus. When being used specifically treat severe complications that arise from COVID-19, is reliable COVID-19-induced sepsis but not pneumonia acute distress syndrome (ARDS). As option, high-dose therapy flashes promise in studies although investigators often subject testing group multimodal therapies include opposed just alone. Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) is an enveloped RNA virus that caused the Disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic. The SARS-CoV-2 Spike glycoprotein binds to angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE2) on host cells facilitate viral entry. However, presence of in nearly all human organs - including those with little or no ACE2 expression suggests involvement alternative receptors. Recent studies have identified several cellular proteins and molecules influence entry through ACE2-dependent, ACE2-independent, inhibitory mechanisms. In this review, we explore how these receptors were identified, their patterns roles entry, impact infection. Additionally, discuss therapeutic strategies aimed at disrupting virus-receptor interactions mitigate COVID-19 pathogenesis.
