Abstract A photo-induced intramolecular electrophilic aromatic substitution (SEAr) of N-acyloxyamides using FeCl3 in 1,4-dioxane is reported for the synthesis biologically interesting benzoxazin-3(4H)-ones. It believed that irradiation with a blue LED facilitates reaction, serving as source energy. The SEAr reaction pathway ascribed to electronic effects present aryl ring substrates. also applicable useful scaffolds possessing quinolin-2-one core, such an anticancer reagent and analogues brexipiprazole cilostamide.

This study describes an iron-catalyzed divergent oxidation of styrene into β-hydroxylmethylketone and ketone under photo-irradiation. divergence is ascribed to the use with various substituents. More importantly, methanol oxidized formaldehyde in reaction serves as a C1 synthon. Mechanism investigations show that initiated by oxidative SET transfer cation radical. The pathway undergoes HAT β-hydride elimination well concerted cyclization. Particularly, several drug-like molecules, such melperone analogue, lenperone haloperidol are synthesized. In addition, this method also applicable synthesis natural product (R)-atomoxetine.

In this work, the annulation of acyl nitrene with alkynes is reported under photoredox/iron dual-catalysis for synthesis a series isoquninalin-2-ones. The reaction featured high regioselectivity and good generality. particular, resulting isoquinalin-2-ones could be structurally elaborated into several biologically interesting scaffolds. Mechanism investigation suggests that was ascribed to formal [4 + 2] cyclization. It believed represents an initial example preparing isoquinolin-1-ones from ferric peroxyl-catalyzed insertion.

Abstract The use of iron as a core metal in catalysis has become research topic interest over the last few decades. reasons are clear. Iron is most abundant transition on Earth's crust and it widely distributed across world. It been extracted processed since dawn civilization. All these features render noncontaminant, biocompatible, nontoxic, inexpensive therefore constitutes perfect candidate to replace noble metals (rhodium, palladium, platinum, iridium, etc.).
