Abstract Cancer is a disease with complex pathological process. Current chemotherapy faces problems such as lack of specificity, cytotoxicity, induction multi-drug resistance and stem-like cells growth. Nanomaterials are materials in the nanorange 1–100 nm which possess unique optical, magnetic, electrical properties. used cancer therapy can be classified into several main categories. Targeting cells, tumor microenvironment, immune system, these nanomaterials have been modified for wide range therapies to overcome toxicity enhance drug capacity well bioavailability. Although number studies has increasing, approved nano-drugs not increased much over years. To better improve clinical translation, further research needed targeted delivery by nano-carriers reduce toxicity, permeability retention effects, minimize shielding effect protein corona. This review summarizes novel fabricated use, discusses current limitations obstacles that hinder translation from provides suggestions more efficient adoption therapy.

Carbon dots (CDs) are usually smaller than 10 nm in size, and meticulously formulated recently introduced nanomaterials, among the other types of carbon-based nanomaterials. They have gained significant attention an incredible interest field nanotechnology biomedical science, which is merely due to their considerable exclusive attributes; including enhanced electron transferability, photobleaching photo-blinking effects, high photoluminescent quantum yield, fluorescence property, resistance photo-decomposition, increased electrocatalytic activity, good aqueous solubility, excellent biocompatibility, long-term chemical stability, cost-effectiveness, negligible toxicity, acquaintance large effective surface area-to-volume ratio. CDs can be readily functionalized owing abundant functional groups on surfaces, they also exhibit remarkable sensing features such as specific, selective, multiplex detectability. Conventional π-conjugated luminophores suffer from problems such as emission quenching, biotoxicity, environmental pollution, etc. The emerging nonconjugated and nonaromatic clusteroluminogens (CLgens) are expected to overcome these stubborn drawbacks, so research of CLgens shows great significance not only for practical application but also the construction fundamental photophysical theories. This perspective summarizes unusual features in comparison traditional chromophores, molecular structures, unmatched absorption excitation, excitation-dependent luminescence, multiple peaks, room-temperature phosphorescence.
