Here we uncovered that the dienones generated from Morita–Baylis–Hillman carbonates of 2-cyclopentenone under Pd(0) catalysis could be umpolunged by regioselectively forming η2-Pd(0) complexes via π-Lewis base activation, and underwent asymmetric inverse-electron-demand oxa-Diels–Alder reaction with α-cyano chalcones. An efficient NaNO2-catalyzed synthesis of 2-methylene-3-cyclohexenones from easily accessible cyclohexenone-MBH acetates has been established for the first time. Target products were rapidly generated in moderate to high yields and with relatively E/Z selectivity. A straightforward approach for the asymmetric synthesis of multifunctionalized γ-lactams, including those bearing two tetrasubstituted stereogenic centers, has been developed through a palladium-catalyzed vinylogous addition/allylic amination process between 1,3-dienes and α-ketoamides. 3-Amino oxindole Schiff base has been used as an efficient and crucial synthon for highly enantioselective benzylation allylation with benzyl bromides allyl in the presence of a 1,3-bis[O(9)-allylcinchonidinium-N-methyl]-2-fluorobenzene dibromide phase transfer catalyst under mild reaction conditions.
