Despite initial declines in fertility since the onset of pandemic, less is known about how intentions are related to pandemic-based stressors United States. Abstract This mixed methods study examined parent‐reported child screen media use before and during the COVID‐19 pandemic by examining 2019–2020 changes in parent perceptions of media, (SMU), problematic (PMU) children aged 2–13 years ( N = 129; 64 boys, girls, 1 nonbinary; 90.7% White, 4.6% Hispanic/Latino, 0.8% Black, 8.5% multiethnic; primarily middle‐to‐high income). Quantitative analyses showed a significant SMU PMU increase (medium effect size). There was steeper among school‐age (older) children. Together, qualitative quantitative results suggest that were influenced distal, proximal, maintaining factors including pandemic, distance learning, behaviors, other children, parental mediation, positive reinforcement.

Abstract Despite the impact of COVID‐19 outbreak being largely negative on parents and children, for some families, lockdown could also bring about positive effects, example, increased emotional closeness, more time joint activity. The aim current study was to investigate cross‐sectionally most important correlates experiences in parent–child relationship among Polish mothers fathers during initial phase outbreak. In May 2020, 228 231 completed Brief version Empathic Sensitivity Questionnaire, Difficulties Emotion Regulation Scale Short Form, Social Support Scale, Parenting Self‐Agency Measure, Positive Experiences Parent–Child Relationship lockdown. Our results showed that parenting self‐efficacy social support were strongest both Perspective‐taking positively related mothers, whereas personal distress associated with fathers. point factors potential importance designing preventive therapeutic interventions enhance pandemic.

Abstract COVID-19 has generated many negative impacts on the family, including impaired psychological well-being of family members (parents and children) processes (such as parenting functioning). Regarding social policies to support families under pandemic, there are several missing links. First, related mainly focus physical with a relatively weaker emphasis well-being. Second, primarily aiming at stabilizing “financial capital” public, human capital (particularly personal resilience) neglected. Objective This study investigated COVID-19 stressors and silver linings, familism values, familial resilience, coping, their relation to internalizing symptoms among Latinx youth.Method A community sample of 135 adolescents completed online surveys 6-months apart (M age = 16, 59.3% female; majority U.S-born).Results stress was associated with more depressive (β .18, p .027) anxiety .21, .010) symptoms.
