Abstract Purpose: Time-restricted eating (TRE) helps regulate rest-activity rhythms, blood glucose, and other diurnally regulated energetics processes, which may have implications for persistent fatigue. In a randomized controlled trial, we tested the effects of TRE vs. control on fatigue in cancer survivorship. Methods: Adult survivors were recruited who 2 months to years post-treatment reported moderate severe Participants 1:1, TRE:control all received individualized nutrition counseling. The group self-selected 10-hour window 12 weeks. At baseline, week 6, 12, participants asked log instances, complete Functional Assessment Chronic Illness Therapy-Fatigue questionnaire (FACIT-F, higher score=less fatigue), wear an actigraph continuous glucose monitor. Results: Thirty completed baseline assessments (77% female, 53% Black/African American, 43% White, 7% Hispanic; 54.1±14.7 old; 87% with cancer); 25 12-week assessments. led meaningful reduction at controlling levels (change FACIT-F subscale=0.0±5.4 control, 4.1±5.7 TRE, p=0.11, effect size [ES]=0.70; clinically threshold=3.0 points). Glucose parameters (e.g., average interstitial fasting glucose) tended be lower rhythms indicate more regularity those weeks 6 though differences not statistically significant (p>0.19). Conclusions: A 12-week, nutritionist-led program less than control. Continued study patterns are warranted optimize this pattern address cancer-related Clinicaltrials.gov identifier: NCT05256888, registered 02/2022

Health behaviors are inextricably linked to health and well-being, yet issues such as physical inactivity insufficient sleep remain significant global public problems. Mobile technology—and the unprecedented scope quantity of data it generates—has a promising but largely untapped potential promote at individual population levels. This perspective article provides multidisciplinary recommendations on design use mobile technology, concomitant wealth data, that support overall health. Using activity anexemplar behavior, we review emerging strategies for behavior change interventions. We describe progress personalizing interventions an their social, cultural, built environments, well evaluating relationships between technology establish evidence-based guidelines. In reviewing these highlighting directions future research, advance theory-based, personalized, human-centered approaches in promoting behaviors.

Summary While there is considerable enthusiasm for the translational and clinical applications of chronobiology, their actual implementation not progressing as rapidly might be expected. Here we discuss possibility that this may relate to a combination conceptual, methodological, evidentiary training challenges. These are compounded by remaining, profound cultural differences between basic applied chronobiologists. We argue all these issues can overcome cross‐faculty teaching, time, patience goodwill, together with set more formal actions, such establishment collaborative framework evidence generation, engagement relevant stakeholders public health campaigns based on already available evidence. hope in particular transformative power circadian medicine, will change outcomes, increase safety improve quality life patients worldwide. Now time bring “internal time” into medicine.

The circadian system maintains optimal biological functions at the appropriate time of day, and disruption this organization can contribute to pathogenesis cardiometabolic disorders. timing eating is a prominent external cue that influences system. “Chrononutrition” an emerging dimension nutrition active area research examines how timing‐related aspects impact rhythms, processes, disease pathogenesis. There evidence support chrononutrition as form chronotherapy, such optimizing may serve actionable strategy improve health. This report summarizes key information from National Heart, Lung, Blood Institute's virtual workshop entitled “Chrononutrition: Elucidating Role Circadian Biology Meal Timing in Cardiometabolic Health,” which convened on May 2 3, 2023, review current literature identify critical knowledge gaps opportunities. speakers presented highlighting health earlier shorter windows more consistent day‐to‐day patterns. multidimensionality was common theme, it encompasses multiple facets along with other behaviors including sleep physical activity. Advancing field will require: (1) standardization terminology metrics; (2) scalable precise tools for real‐world settings; (3) consideration individual differences act effect modifiers; (4) deeper understanding social, behavioral, cultural influences. Ultimately, there great potential circadian‐based dietary interventions

Time-restricted eating (TRE) has shown potential benefits in optimizing the body's circadian rhythms and improving cardiometabolic health. However, as with all dietary interventions, a participant's ability to adhere protocol may be largely influenced by variety of lifestyle factors. In TRE trials that reported participants' rates adherence, percentage total days successful adherence ranged from 47% 95%. The purpose this review is (1) summarize findings factors affecting clinical outside lab, (2) explore recommended set behavioral intervention strategies for application TRE. A literature search on Pubmed was conducted identify studies 1988 October 5, 2022, investigated intervention. 21 included daily self-monitoring though only 10 combination family, social, work, miscellaneous barriers. To maximize participant increase reliability trials, future should monitor assess barriers, consider incorporating protocols.

This observational pilot study examined the association between diet, meal pattern and glucose over a 2-week period under free-living conditions in 26 adults with dysglycemia (D-GLYC) 14 normoglycemia (N-GLYC). We hypothesized that prolonged eating window late occasions (EOs), along higher dietary carbohydrate intake, would result levels variability (GV). General linear models were run timing time-stamped photographs real time, diet composition by recalls, their (SD), as predictors variables (mean glucose, mean amplitude of excursions [MAGE], largest [LAGE] GV) dependent variables. After adjusting for calories nutrients, later midpoint predicted lower GV (β = −2.3, SE 1.0, p 0.03) D-GLYC, while last EO 1.5, 0.6, 0.04) N-GLYC. A intake MAGE 0.9, 0.4, 0.02) 0.2, N-GLYC, but not D-GLYC. In summary, our data suggest patterns interact should be evaluated potential modifiable determinants without dysglycemia.
