Abstract Background In Japan, there is a tendency to view COVID‐19 infection as one's own responsibility, which may result in more feelings of guilt than other countries. During the pandemic, curfew imposed by restricted social behavior and increased anxiety loneliness, have risk suicide among young women, especially mothers who were highly stressed regarding their children. Case Presentation This case report two Japanese developed following with COVID‐19, leading attempts. They feared stigma or denial due infection, they unable explain others, heightened sense self‐blame addition, women heavy burden housework, despite dual roles at home work; pandemic's behavioral restrictions led time stress. These also affected economic crisis early stages pandemic men. Relatedly, neuropsychiatric symptoms that persisted after recovering from such depression, anxiety, fatigue, pain, namely postacute syndrome long COVID, precipitated suicidal ideation these cases. Moreover, complication bipolar disorder could attempts caused infection‐related exacerbation during pandemic. Conclusion Suicide prevention measures need be taken seriously

Abstract To assess the inter-relationships between residual depressive symptoms (RDS) and Internet addiction (IA) using network analysis among clinically stable adolescents with major psychiatric disorders during COVID-19 pandemic. RDS IA were assessed Patient Health Questionnaire-9 (PHQ-9) Addiction Test (IAT), respectively. Central bridge in model examined. A total of 1,454 met study criteria included analyses. The prevalence was 31.2% (95% CI: 28.8%-33.6%). In analysis, nodes IAT15 (“Preoccupation Internet”), PHQ2 (“Sad mood”), PHQ1 (“Anhedonia”) most central IA-RDS model. Bridge IAT10 (“Sooth disturbing about your use”), PHQ9 (“Suicide ideation”), IAT3 (“Prefer excitement online to time others”). Additionally, mood”) main node linking “Anhedonia” other clusters. common Core identified this could be prioritized as targets for prevention treatment population.

Backgrounds Co-occurrence of thyroid dysfunction, metabolic disturbances, and worsening clinical symptoms in major depressive disorder (MDD) patients with suicidal attempts (SA) are common. However, their relationship SA remains unexplored. We aimed to (1) determine the independent association symptoms, disturbances SA; (2) identify interactions via network approach. Methods 1718 FEDN MDD were recruited. Depressive, anxiety, psychotic assessed by Hamilton Rating Scale for Depression (HAMD), Anxiety (HAMA), Positive Negative Syndrome Subscale positive subscale, respectively. The serum levels hormones other parameters assessed. Logistic regression model was applied correlates SA. Network analysis interaction between disturbances. Results had significant worse than non-SA patients. Thyroid peroxidases antibody, stimulating hormone (TSH), HAMD scores, HAMA systolic blood pressure independently associated suggested that TSH hub network, exhibiting substantial associations Conclusions Our work highlights predominant role pathophysiology Regular function tests might help early detect Targeting increased may reduce

Bipolar Disorder is associated with high rates of suicidal thoughts, behaviors, and outcomes, yet the lived experience suicidality not particularly well understood. Understanding role psychosocial aetiologies in outcomes for those living key developing appropriately targeted interventions focusing on factors that are amenable to change. In line PRISMA guidance, we conducted a scoping review identify types studied relation people diagnoses. Systematic literature searches identified sample 166 articles from which study data were extracted charted. A narrative synthesis reviewed presented ordered by investigated across studies, frequency count psychological/social studied, brief overview findings each aetiology. Most took form quantitative cross-sectional only one qualitative 18 prospective studies. The most trauma (specifically early adverse experiences childhood traumas) stressful life events, impulsivity (primarily subjective self-reported trait impulsivity), social support functioning, personality/temperament factors. The attrition rate of Chinese medical students is high. This study utilizes a nomogram technique to develop predictive model for dropout intention among undergraduates based on 19 individual and work-related characteristics. A repeated cross-sectional was conducted, enrolling 3536 in T1 (August 2020-April 2021) 969 participants T2 (October 2022) through snowball sampling. Demographics (age, sex, phase, income, relationship status, history mental illness) health factors (including depression, anxiety, stress, burnout, alcohol use disorder, sleepiness, quality life, fatigue, suicidal attempts (SA), somatic symptoms), as well variables (career choice regret reasons, workplace violence experience, overall satisfaction with the healthcare environment), were gathered via questionnaires. Data from split into training cohort an internal validation cohort, while data served external cohort. nomogram's performance evaluated discrimination, calibration, clinical applicability, generalization using receiver operating characteristic curves (ROC), area under curve (AUC), calibration curves, decision analysis (DCA). From factors, five identified significant predictors construction nomogram: SA, career regret, experience violence, depressive symptoms, burnout. AUC values training, validation, cohorts 0.762, 0.761, 0.817, respectively. demonstrated reliable prediction adequate across both cohorts. exhibits reasonable accuracy foreseeing intentions undergraduates. It could guide colleges, hospitals, policymakers pinpointing at risk, thus informing targeted interventions. Addressing underlying such may help reduce observational study. There no Clinical Trial Number associated this manuscript.

Our aim was to determine the influence of variables Death Anxiety, Loneliness, and Depression on suicidal ideation in Peruvian adults during COVID-19 pandemic. The sample consisted 1342 subjects from Lima–Callao regions Peru, selected with non-probabilistic purposive sampling. A predictive, non-experimental design cross-sectional measurement using previously validated questionnaires conducted. differential effect found. two models obtained through structural equation modeling highlight a significant predictive relationship directly ideation, while Loneliness is second factor that best predicts ideation’s indirect relationships. Likewise, being single unemployed were found be significantly associated (p < 0.05) have Depression. same trend evidenced by people aged less than 30, no schooling, not practicing sports sleeping 4 h; however, neither having had nor place residence ideation. As conclusion, depressive symptomatology predictor loneliness indirectly influences
