Abstract.
Warm-water
coral
reefs
are
facing
unprecedented
human-driven
threats
to
their
continued
existence
as
biodiverse
functional
ecosystems
upon
which
hundreds
of
millions
people
rely.
These
impacts
may
drive
past
critical
thresholds,
beyond
the
system
reorganises,
often
abruptly
and
potentially
irreversibly;
this
is
what
Intergovernmental
Panel
on
Climate
Change
(IPCC,
2022)
define
a
tipping
point.
Determining
point
thresholds
for
reef
requires
robust
assessment
multiple
stressors
interactive
effects.
In

we

global

Abstract
Marine
ecosystem-based
management
(EBM)
is
recognized
as
the
best
practice
for
managing
multiple
ocean-use
sectors,
explicitly
addressing
tradeoffs
among
them.
However,
implementation
perceived
challenging
and
often
slow.
A
poll
of
over
150
international
EBM
experts
revealed
progress,
challenges,
solutions
in
worldwide.
Subsequent
follow-up
discussions
with
40
these
identified
remaining
impediments
to
further
EBM:
governance;
stakeholder
engagement;
support;
uncertainty
about
understanding
EBM;
technology
data;
communication
marketing.

complex

implemented,

we
report
that
identifiable
achievable
exist
(e.g.,
political

persistence,
capacity

Understanding
the
global
impact
of
offshore
wind
farms
(OWF)
on
biodiversity
and
ecosystem
services
(ES)
is
crucial
in
developing
sustainable
energy
transition
pathways.
This
study
takes
a
holistic
approach,
coupling
semi-systematic
review
with
novel
analytical
methodology,
to
consider
consequences
construction
&
operation
OWF
deployment
ES.

fatty
acids
(LC-PUFA),
namely

from
omega-3
(n-3)
and
omega-6
(n-6)
families,

cannot
be
synthesized

novo
