Intratumoral
pathogens
can
contribute
to
cancer
progression
and
affect
therapeutic
response.
Fusobacterium
nucleatum,
a
core
pathogen
of
colorectal
(CRC),
is
an
important
cause
low
efficacy
metastasis.
Thus,
the
modulation
intratumoral
may
provide
target
for
therapy
metastasis
inhibition.
Herein,
we
propose
F.
nucleatum-modulating
strategy
enhancing
CRC
inhibiting
lung
by
designing
antibacterial
nanoplatform
(Au@BSA-CuPpIX),
which
produced
reactive
oxygen
species
(ROS)
under
ultrasound
exhibited
strong
activity.
Importantly,
Au@BSA-CuPpIX
reduced
levels
apoptosis-inhibiting
proteins
thereby
ROS-induced
apoptosis.
In
vivo
results
demonstrated
that
effectively
eliminated
nucleatum
enhance
sonodynamic
(SDT)
orthotopic
inhibit
Notably,
entrapped
gold
nanoparticles
phototoxicity
metalloporphyrin
accumulated
in
skin
during
tumor
treatment,
preventing
severe
inflammation
damage
skin.
Therefore,
this
study
proposes
elimination
effect
SDT,
thus
providing
promising
paradigm
improving
treatment
with
fewer
toxic
side
effects
promoting
clinical
translational
potential
SDT.

Despite
substantial
progress
in
cancer
microbiome
research,
recognized
confounders
and
advances
absolute
quantification
remain
underused;
this
raises
concerns
regarding
potential
spurious
associations.
Here
we
study
the
fecal
microbiota
of
589
patients
at
different
colorectal
(CRC)
stages
compare
observations
with
up
to
15
published
studies
(4,439
controls
total).
Using
quantitative
profiling
based
on
16S
ribosomal
RNA
amplicon
sequencing,
combined
rigorous
confounder
control,
identified
transit
time,
calprotectin
(intestinal
inflammation)
body
mass
index
as
primary
microbial
covariates,
superseding
variance
explained
by
CRC
diagnostic
groups.
Well-established
targets,
such
Fusobacterium
nucleatum,
did
not
significantly
associate
groups
(healthy,
adenoma
carcinoma)
when
controlling
for
these
covariates.
In
contrast,
associations
Anaerococcus
vaginalis,
Dialister
pneumosintes,
Parvimonas
micra,
Peptostreptococcus
anaerobius,
Porphyromonas
asaccharolytica
Prevotella
intermedia
remained
robust,
highlighting
their
future
target
potential.
Finally,
control
individuals
(age
22-80
years,
mean
57.7
standard
deviation
11.3)
meeting
criteria
colonoscopy
(for
example,
through
a
positive
immunochemical
test)
but
without
colonic
lesions
are
enriched
dysbiotic

Aquatic
vegetation
(AV)
is
vital
for
maintaining
the
health
of
lake
ecosystems,
with
submerged
aquatic
(SAV)
and
floating/emergent
(FEAV)
representing
clear
shaded
states,
respectively.
However,
global
SAV
FEAV
dynamics
are
poorly
understood
due
to
data
scarcity.
To
address
this
gap,
we
developed
an
innovative
AV
mapping
algorithm
workflow
using
satellite
imagery
(1.4
million
Landsat
images)
from
1989
2021
created
a
database
across
5,587
shallow
lakes.
Our
findings
suggest
that
covers
108,186
km2
on
average
globally,
accounting
28.9%
(FEAV,
15.8%;
SAV,
13.1%)
total
area.
Over
two
decades,
observed
notable
transition:
decreased
by
30.4%,
while
increased
15.6%,
leading
substantial
net
loss
AV.
This
trend
indicates
shift
conditions,
increasingly
progressing
toward
turbid
states
dominated
phytoplankton.
We
found
human-induced
eutrophication
was
primary
driver
change
until
early
2010s,
after
which
warming
rising
temperatures
became
dominant
drivers.
These
trends
serve
as
warning
sign
deteriorating
worldwide.
With
future
climate
intensified
eutrophication,
these
ongoing
pose
significant
risk
disrupting
ecosystems.
