2023,
the
brilliant
chromatin
biologist
C.
David
Allis
passed
away
leaving
a
large
void
in
scientific
community
and
broken
hearts
his
family
friends.
With
this
review,
we
want
to
tribute
Dave's
enduring
inspiration
by
focusing
on
histone
variant
H2A.Z,
nucleosome
component
he
was
first
discover
as
hv1
Tetrahymena.
We
summarize
latest
findings
from
past
5
years
regarding
mammalian
H2A.Z
histone,
its
deposition
eviction
mechanisms,
roles
transcriptional
regulation,
DNA
damage
repair,
structure
organization,
embryonic
development,
well
how
deregulation
or
mutation(s)
of
chaperones
contribute
disease
development.
As
Dave
liked
say
'Every
amino
acid
matters';
discovery
characterization
functionally
different
H2A.Z's
isoforms,
which
vary
only
three
acids,
prove
him-once
again-right.

Inflammatory
bowel
disease
(IBD),
including
ulcerative
colitis
and
Crohn's
disease,

cryo-electron
tomography.

found
that
traditional
blotting
methods
