Abstract Many experts have extensively studied the potential of exercise as a treatment option for psychiatric conditions, including depression and autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Despite their core symptoms, these conditions exhibits comparable component traits, an anxiety. In this study, we explored effect on behavioral abnormalities in focusing its intensity emotional resilience. Shank3B knockout (KO SED ) mice displaying self-injurious repetitive behavior C57BL/6J mice, susceptible to stress ASD model, respectively, were subjected moderate-intensity (ME) 2 weeks. ME mitigated symptoms (excessive grooming traits despair) but did not exert significant anxiolytic effect. Notably, has emerged critical determinant efficacy, evidenced by lower ventilation threshold mediated low-intensity exercise. The findings substantiate notion that is promising disease-modifying treatment, matters Graphical

The COVID-19 pandemic has increased the prevalence of depressive disorders worldwide, requiring alternative treatments beyond medication and psychotherapy. Exercise positive effects on brain; therefore, it emerged as a promising therapeutic option for individuals with depression. Considerable research involving humans animals offers compelling evidence to support mental health benefits physical activity or exercise mediated by regulation complex theoretical paradigms. However, challenges such conducting long-term follow-up assessments considering individual characteristics remain in human studies despite extensive efforts. While animal provide valuable insights into potential its impact outcomes related depression anxiety rodents exposed different stress paradigms, translating findings requires careful evaluation. More is needed establish precise prescription guidelines better understand relationship between disorders. Therefore, this concise review explores supporting intervention an antidepressant treatment underlying mechanisms.

Abstract Depression is a common mental disorder characterized by high prevalence and significant adverse effects, making the searching for effective interventions an urgent priority. In recent years, physical activity (PA) has increasingly been recognized as standard adjunctive treatment disorders owing to its low cost, easy application, efficiency. Epidemiological data shows positive preventive therapeutic effects of PA on illnesses such depression. This article systematically describes prophylactic depression biological basis. Physical exercise effectively prevents anxiety disorders caused by environmental stress. The neural circuitry mechanism, however, remains incomplete. Here, we identified a previously unrecognized pathway originating from the primary motor cortex (M1) to medial prefrontal (mPFC) via ventromedial thalamic (VM) nuclei in male mice. Besides anatomical evidence, both ex vivo and recordings showed enhanced excitability of M1-VM inputs prelimbic (PrL) region mPFC upon 14-day treadmill on chronic restraint stress (CRS) mouse model. Further functional interrogations demonstrated that activation this circuit is necessary sufficient direct anxiolytic effect training CRS Our findings provide more insights into circuits connecting mental regions under paradigm implicate potential targets for neuromodulation treating disorders. relieves disorders, while authors show input cortex, nuclei.

This study investigates the association between Weekend Warrior (WW) pattern and risk of anxiety among American adults, offering insights into a more flexible exercise strategy for individuals with limited time regular during weekdays. We analyzed data from 2007–2012 National Health Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) to examine relationship different physical activity (PA) patterns anxiety. Multivariate logistic regression, subgroup interaction, restricted cubic spline analysis (RCS), sensitivity analyses were conducted assess this association. Compared inactive individuals, those engaging in WW (OR = 0.65, 95% CI: 0.48–0.90, p 0.010), insufficiently active 0.71, 0.62–0.82, < 0.001), or regularly 0.75, 0.65–0.87, 0.001) showed significantly lower Subgroup interaction revealed significant effect modification poverty income ratio (PIR) diabetes subgroups (P 0.05), while no interactions observed other variables. Disruption of cerebral energy metabolism is increasingly recognized as a key factor in the pathophysiology mood disorders. Lactate, beyond its role metabolic byproduct, now understood to be critical player brain homeostasis and modulator neuronal function. Recent advances understanding lactate shuttling between astrocytes neurons have opened new avenues for exploring multifaceted roles regulation. Exercise, known modulate levels, further underscores potential therapeutic target This review delves into alterations associated with disorders, emphasizing their implications dynamics signaling pathways. Additionally, we discuss particularly through capacity remodel We conclude by assessing promise exercise-induced production novel strategy disorder treatment. Alterations may contribute pathogenesis In several studies, not only substrate metabolism, but also molecule that triggers cascades. Specifically, involved regulation neurogenesis, neuroplasticity, endothelial cell function, microglia lysosomal acidification, therefore improving Meanwhile, exercise low-risk intervention can improve disorders Thus, evidence from this supports could disorder, contributing deeper intervention.

Aversive caregiving in early life is a risk factor for aberrant brain and behavioral development. This outcome related to epigenetic dysregulation of the brain-derived neurotrophic (Bdnf) gene. The Bdnf gene encodes BDNF, neurotrophin involved development, neural plasticity, learning, memory. Recent work suggests that exercise may be neuroprotective part by supporting BDNF protein expression, making it an exciting target therapeutic interventions. To our knowledge, has never been studied as intervention preclinical rodent models caregiver maltreatment. end, current study investigated effect adult voluntary wheel running on methylation expression prefrontal cortex rats who experienced aversive infancy. We employed model (Long Evans rats) wherein rat pups intermittent caregiver-induced stress from postnatal days 1–7 were given access (except control condition) 70–90 young adulthood treatment intervention. Our results indicate maltreatment affect exon, CG site, sex-specific manner. Here we add growing body evidence ability experiences, including exercise, permeate brain.
