The liver acts as a central metabolic hub, integrating signals from the gastrointestinal tract and adipose tissue to regulate carbohydrate, lipid, amino acid metabolism. Gut-derived metabolites, such acetate ethanol non-esterified fatty acids white (WAT), influence hepatic processes, which rely on mitochondrial function maintain systemic energy balance. Metabolic dysregulation obesity, insulin resistance, type 2 diabetes disrupt these pathways, leading dysfunction-associated steatotic disease (MASLD) steatohepatitis (MASH). This review explores fluxes within gut-adipose tissue-liver axis, focusing pivotal role of de novo lipogenesis (DNL), dietary substrates like glucose fructose, changes in during MASLD progression. Abstract Modulation of testing conditions such as resting lactate (La rest ) levels or carbohydrate intake may affect the calculation maximal glycolytic rate (νLa.max). To evaluate impact elevated La well reduced and increased availability on νLa.max in running sprints (RST), twenty‐one participants completed five 15‐s RST tests a track under different conditions: (I). baseline: ≤1.5 mmol·L −1 ; (II). Lactate+: ≥2.5 (III). CHO − : intake: ≤ 1 g·kg BW d for 3 days; (IV). CHO+: ≥ 9 one day; (V). acuteCHO: 500 mL glucose containing beverage consumed before RST. was significantly lactate+ CHO− compared to baseline RST, due reduction arithmetic mean delta (∆) between peak concentration , mmol · L ). AcuteCHO led an increase baseline, CHO+ with high interindividual variability but did not reduce νLa.max.
