Microglia, a vital homeostasis-keeper of the central nervous system, perform critical functions such as synaptic pruning, clearance cellular debris, and participation in neuroinflammatory processes. Recent research has shown that microglia exhibit strong circadian rhythms not only actively regulate their own immune activity, but also affect neuronal function. Disruptions clock have been linked to higher risk developing variety diseases. In this article we will provide an overview how lifestyle factors impact microglial function, with focus on disruptions caused by irregular sleep-wake patterns, reduced physical eating at wrong time-of-day. We discuss potential connection between these factors, disrupted rhythms, role keeping brain health.

In the present study, visual discomfort induced by smart mobile devices was assessed in normal and healthy adults.Fifty-nine volunteers (age, 38.16 ± 10.23 years; male : female = 19 40) were exposed to tablet computer screen stimuli (iPad Air, Apple Inc.) for 1 hour. Participants watched a movie or played game on computer. Aim To examine the demographic and social factors associated with myopia in schoolchildren Ireland. Methods Thirty-seven schools participated, representing a mix of urban rural socioeconomically disadvantaged non-disadvantaged areas Examination included cyclopleged autorefraction (1% cyclopentolate hydrochloride). Height weight participants were measured. Parents filled participant’s lifestyle questionnaire, including questions on daily screen time use daylight exposure. Myopia was defined as spherical equivalent ≤−0.50 D. Results Data from 1626 (881 boys, 745 girls) two age groups, 6–7 years (728) 12–13 (898), examined. prevalence significantly higher children aged old (OR=7.7, 95%CI 5.1 to 11.6, p<0.001) non-white ethnicity (OR=3.7, 95% CI 2.5 5.3, p<0.001). Constant exposure to blue light emanating from screens, lamps, digital devices, or other artificial sources at night can suppress melatonin secretion, potentially compromising both sleep quality and overall health.
