Abstract Chiral cyclopentadienyl rhodium (CpRh) complex‐catalyzed asymmetric C−H functionalization reactions have witnessed a significant progress in organic synthesis. In sharp contrast, the reported chiral Cp ligands are limited to C‐linked and often synthetically challenging. To address these issues, we developed novel class of tunable bearing oxygen linkers, which were efficient catalysts for arylation benzo[ h ]quinolines with 1‐diazonaphthoquinones, affording axially heterobiaryls excellent yields enantioselectivity (up 99 % yield, 98.5:1.5 er). Mechanistic studies suggest that reaction is likely proceed by electrophilic activation, followed coupling cyclometalated rhodium(III) complex 1‐diazonaphthoquinones.

Molecular syntheses largely rely on time- and labour-intensive prefunctionalization strategies. In contrast, C-H activation represents an increasingly powerful approach that avoids lengthy of prefunctionalized substrates, with great potential for drug discovery, the pharmaceutical industry, material sciences, crop protection, among others. The enantioselective functionalization omnipresent bonds has emerged as a transformative tool step- atom-economical generation chiral molecular complexity. However, this rapidly growing research area remains dominated by noble transition metals, prominently featuring toxic palladium, iridium rhodium catalysts. An enantioselective C-H arylation of phosphine oxides with o-quinone diazides catalyzed by an iridium(III) complex bearing atropchiral cyclopentadienyl (Cpx ) ligand and phthaloyl tert-leucine as co-catalyst is reported. The method allows access to a) P-chiral biaryl oxides, b) atropo-enantioselective construction sterically demanding backbones, also c) selective assembly axial compounds in excellent yields diastereo- enantioselectivities. Enantiospecific reductions provide monodentate chiral phosphorus(III) having structures backbones proven importance ligands asymmetric catalysis.

Abstract Recent advances in Cp x M III catalysis (M=Co, Rh, Ir) have enabled a variety of enantioselective C(sp 2 )−H functionalization reactions, but 3 is still largely unexplored. We describe an asymmetric amidation thioamides using achiral Co /chiral carboxylic acid hybrid catalytic system, which provides easy and straightforward access to chiral β‐amino thiocarbonyl carbonyl building blocks with quaternary carbon stereocenter.

The synthesis of a set cobalt(III)-complexes equipped with trisubstituted chiral cyclopentadienyl ligands is reported, and their steric electronic parameters are mapped. application potential these complexes for asymmetric C-H functionalizations 3d-metals shown by the dihydroisoquinolones from N-chlorobenzamides broad range alkenes. transformation proceeds excellent enantioselectivities up to 99.5:0.5 er high regioselectivities. observed values outperform best rhodium(III)-based methods this reaction type. Abstract The rapid development of enantioselective C−H activation reactions has created a demand for new types catalysts. Herein, we report the synthesis novel planar‐chiral rhodium catalyst [(C 5 H 2 t Bu CH Bu)RhI ] in two steps from commercially available [(cod)RhCl] and tert ‐butylacetylene. Pure enantiomers were obtained through separation its diastereomeric adducts with natural ( S )‐proline. promoted aryl hydroxamic acids strained alkenes to give dihydroisoquinolones high yields (up 97 %) good stereoselectivity 95 % ee ).

Cp*Cobalt(III)-catalyzed enantioselective C-H amidation of ferrocenes using monoprotected amino acids (MPAAs) as chiral ligands was developed. C–H functionalization has been established as an efficient way to generate molecular complexity. The formation of stereogenic carbon atoms by asymmetric seen tremendous progress over the past decade. More recently, direct catalytic modification bonds powerfully applied noncarbon centers, which constitute a key design element biologically active molecules and chiral ligands for catalysis. This area was opened seminal report describing enantioselective silicon stereocenter. It rapidly expanded with advances in phosphorus(V) centers. Moreover, routes sulfur oxidation states IV (sulfoxides) VI (sulfoximines) have disclosed. Herein, we discuss methods using selective remote heteroatom center via inner-sphere activation mechanism.
