Metal-organic polyhedra (MOPs) are a subclass of coordination cages that can adsorb and host species in solution permanently porous solid-state. These characteristics, together with the recent development their orthogonal surface chemistry assembly more stable cages, have awakened latent potential MOPs to be used as building blocks for synthesis extended networks. This review article focuses on exploring key developments make extension possible, highlighting most remarkable examples MOP-based soft materials crystalline frameworks. Finally, ventures offer future perspectives exploitation fields still remain ripe toward use such unorthodox molecular platforms.

Developing efficient adsorbents for the removal of water pollutants is great significance environmental protection. In this study, conjugated triaryl triazines (CTT), containing intramolecular hydrogen-bonding patterns, were recognized to be intriguing building blocks construction porous organic polymer (POP) adsorbents. These planar monomers with multiple phenolic hydroxyl groups facilitated formation aza-linked polymers hierarchical structures, sheet-like morphology, good surface wettability, and high degree functionality. Such structural characteristics CTT-POP provided superfast adsorption various cationic dyes from water. For methylene blue dye, pseudo-second-order rate constant CTT-POP-1 12.9 g mg–1 min–1, superior those reported in existing literature. addition, can regenerated at least seven times no loss performance, indicating its potential application treatment.

Abstract Water pollution is a growing threat to humanity due the pervasiveness of contaminants in water bodies. Significant efforts have been made separate these hazardous components purify polluted through various methods. However, conventional remediation methods suffer from limitations such as low uptake capacity or selectivity, and current quality standards cannot be met. Recently, advanced porous materials (APMs) shown promise improved segregation compared traditional selectivity. These feature merits high surface area versatile functionality, rendering them ideal platforms for design novel adsorbents. This Review summarizes development employment APMs variety treatments accompanied by assessments task‐specific adsorption performance. Finally, we discuss our perspectives on future opportunities purification.

Sustainable organic electrode materials, as promising alternatives to conventional inorganic materials for sodium-ion batteries (SIBs), are still challenging realize long-lifetime and high-rate because of their poor conductivity, limited electroactivity, severe dissolution. It is also urgent deeply reveal electrochemical mechanism evolution processes. A porous polymer (POP) with a conjugated hierarchical structure designed synthesized here. The unique molecule endow the POP electron delocalization, high ionic diffusivity, plentiful active sites, exceptional stability, solubility in electrolytes. When evaluated an anode SIBs, exhibits appealing properties regarding reversible capacity, rate behaviors, long-duration life. Importantly, using judiciously combined experiments theoretical computation, including situ transmission microscopy (TEM), ex spectroscopy, we Na-storage dynamic processes POP, 12-electron reaction process Na, low volume expansion (125-106% vs initial 100%), stable composition during repeating sodiation/de-sodiation This quantitative design ultrafast highly durable sodium storage could be immediate benefit rational ideal properties.

Conjugated microporous polymers (CMPs) with donor-acceptor (D-A) molecular structure show high photocatalytic activity for hydrogen evolution due to the efficient light-induced electron/hole separation, which is mostly determined by nature of electron donor and acceptor units. Therefore, selection holds key point construct performance polymer photocatalysts. Herein, two dibenzo[b,d]thiophene-S,S-dioxide (BTDO) containing CMP photocatalysts using tetraphenylethylene (TPE) or dibenzo[g,p]chrysene (DBC) as investigate influence geometry on are design synthesized. Compared twisted TPE donor, DBC has a planar extended π-conjugation, promotes charges transmission separation. As result, DBC-BTDO produced from shows remarkable rate (HER) 104.86 mmol h-1 g-1 under full arc light (λ > 300 nm), much higher than that TPE-BTDO (1.80 ), demonstrating can be an constructing D-A evolution.
