The pathophysiology of diabetes has been studied extensively in various countries, but effective prevention and treatment methods are still insufficient. In recent years, epigenetics received increasing attention from researchers exploring the etiology diabetes. DNA methylation, histone modifications, non-coding RNAs play critical roles occurrence, maintenance, progression its complications. Therefore, preventing or reversing epigenetic alterations that occur during development may reduce individual societal burden disease. Dietary flavonoids serve as natural modulators for discovery biomarkers alternative therapies. However, there is limited knowledge about potential beneficial effects on this review, multidimensional different flavonoid subtypes were summarized. Furthermore, it was discussed parental diets might incidence offspring, which represent a promising opportunity to prevent future. Future work will depend anti-diabetic with regulation mechanisms clinical trials.Highlights• "Epigenetic therapy" could diabetic patients• diet" ameliorates diabetes• Targeting regulations by dietary prevention• via transgenerational inheritance.

Metabolic syndrome (MetS) is a chronic disease, including abdominal obesity, dyslipidemia, hyperglycemia, and hypertension. It should be noted that the occurrence of MetS closely related to oxidative stress-induced mitochondrial dysfunction, ectopic fat accumulation, impairment antioxidant system, which in turn further aggravates intracellular imbalance inflammatory response. As enriched anti-inflammatory components plants, natural polyphenols exhibit beneficial effects, improving liver accumulation reducing blood pressure. Hence, they are expected useful prevention management MetS. At present, epidemiological studies indicate negative correlation between polyphenol intake incidence. In this review, we summarized discussed most promising (including flavonoid non-flavonoid drugs) precaution treatment MetS, their properties, as well regulatory functions involved glycolipid homeostasis.

Isoflavones are polyphenols primarily contained in soybean. As phytoestrogens, isoflavones exert beneficial effects on various chronic diseases. Metabolic syndrome increases the risk of death due to arteriosclerosis individuals with pathological conditions, including obesity, hypertension, hyperglycemia, and dyslipidemia. Although health benefits soybean-derived widely known, their pathogenesis metabolic incompletely understood. This review aims describe association between isoflavone intake development. We reviewed studies soy isoflavones, particularly daidzein genistein, syndrome, using PubMed, ScienceDirect, Web Science. characteristics those contributing multiple conditions. Furthermore, we summarize genistein reported human epidemiological experiments vitro vivo models. In particular, emphasize role syndrome-induced cardiovascular conclusion, this focuses potential prevent by influencing onset dyslipidemia, discusses anti-inflammatory isoflavones.

Abstract A recent International Diabetes Federation report suggests that more than 463 million people between 20 and 79 years have diabetes. Of the women affected by hyperglycemia during pregnancy, 84% gestational In addition, 1.1 children or adolescents are type 1 Factors contributing to increase in diabetes prevalence complex include contributions from genetic, environmental, epigenetic factors. However, molecular regulatory mechanisms influencing progression of an individual towards increased susceptibility metabolic diseases such as not fully understood. Recent studies suggest pathogenesis involves changes, resulting a persistently dysregulated phenotype. This review summarizes role mechanisms, mainly DNA methylation histone modifications, development pancreas, their contribution diabetes, potential employment modulators treatment.

A 56-day feeding trial was conducted to investigate the effects of genistein on growth, lipid metabolism, antioxidant capacity, and immunity common carp fed with high-carbohydrate or high-fat diets. Five diets were used feed fish: control diet (5% fat; CO), (11% HF), (45% carbohydrate; HC), HF HC 500 mg/kg (FG CG). Results showed that final body weight (FW) specific growth rate (SGR) significantly reduced, but supplementation resulted in higher values FW SGR than group. Both high carbohydrate fat belong high-energy diets, which may promote deposition. Genistein obviously decreased liver triglyceride (TG) content alleviated hepatic vacuolation groups. The expression metabolism genes (cpt-1 atgl) markedly FG group synthesis-related (fas, acc, pparγ) elevated recovered level reduced after treatments. With respect fatty acid transporter genes, fatp increased group, cd36 CG Furthermore, immune indexes, such as total capacity (T-AOC), glutathione peroxidase (GSH-PX), superoxide dismutase (SOD), phosphatase (ACP), lysozyme (LZM) activities, decreased, while malonate aldehyde (MDA) content, activities alanine aminotransferase (ALT), aspartate (AST) enhanced could be ameliorated by treatment genistein. Moreover, transcript levels antioxidant-related (cat, gr, nrf2) anti-inflammatory factors (tgf-β il-10) lyz head kidney tissue promoted, although proinflammatory (tnf-α il-6) declined confirmed immune-enhancing Therefore, ameliorate negative immunity.

Obesity is a condition that characterized by the presence of excessive adipose tissue in body. has become one main health concerns worldwide since it can lead to other chronic ailments, such as type 2 diabetes or fatty liver disease, and could be an aggravating factor infections. MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are small, non-coding RNA molecules regulate gene expression play important role controlling crucial biological processes involved onset obesity, lipogenesis, adipogenesis, lipid metabolism, regulation cytokines chemokines. Moreover, chemical compounds present food packaging alter miRNA aforementioned mechanisms related progression. Furthermore, therapies, bariatric surgery aerobic exercise training, also influence profile miRNAs obesity. Therefore, review provides insight into current research on obesity obesity-derived intending develop novel therapies effectively manage these disorders.

Mulberry leaf is an important medicinal food plant, which rich in polyphenol compounds. polyphenols (MLP) possess significant lipid-lowering and antioxidant effects, healthcare functions. In this study, the content of mulberry ethanol extract was measured using HPLC. The analysis resulted identification 14 compounds, Chlorogenic acid Quercitrin were highest. A high-fat diet (HFD)-induced obese mouse model developed treated with MLP for 12 weeks to explore their effect on lipid metabolism HFD-induced mice. results showed that could inhibit weight gain fat cell volume increase mice a dose-dependent manner. Further revealed decelerated fatty composition adipose tissues mice, significantly increased polyunsaturated-to-saturated (PUFA/SFA) ratio. real-time quantitative PCR (RT-qPCR) indicated inhibited down regulation uncoupling protein (UCP) 1 (UCP1), UCP3, PR domain zinc finger 16 (PRDM16) caused by HFD. These beneficial effects might be attributed ability change tissue expression thermogenesis genes. Overall, study suggested serve as potential weight-loss functional products.
