A novel photocatalytic decarboxylative [2 + 2 m] cyclization of 1,7-enynes with alkyl N-hydroxyphthalimide (NHP) esters, using tricyclohexylphosphine and potassium iodide as redox catalysts, is reported for the construction functional polycyclic compounds.
