Ischemic stroke (IS) is one of the most fatal diseases. Neuroimmunity, inflammation, and oxidative stress play important roles in various complex mechanisms IS. In particular, early proinflammatory response resulting from overactivation resident microglia infiltration circulating monocytes macrophages brain after cerebral ischemia leads to secondary injury. Microglia are innate immune cells that constantly monitor microenvironment under normal conditions. Once occurs, activated produce dual effects neurotoxicity neuroprotection, balance two determines fate damaged neurons. The activation defined as classical (M1 type) or alternative (M2 type). M1 type secrete pro-inflammatory cytokines neurotoxic mediators exacerbate neuronal damage, while M2 promote a repairing anti-inflammatory response. Fine regulation M1/M2 microglial minimize damage maximize protection has therapeutic value. This review focuses on interaction between other involved IS phenotypic characteristics, mechanism natural plant components regulating IS, providing novel candidate drugs for drug development.

Human gut Bacteroides and Parabacteroides species play crucial roles in human health are known for their capacity to utilize diverse polysaccharides. Understanding how these bacteria medicinal polysaccharides is foundational developing polysaccharides-based prebiotics drugs. Here, we systematically mapped the utilization profiles of 20 different by 28 species. The growth exhibited substantial variation across bacterial Ginseng promoted multiple species; contrast, Dendrobium selectively uniformis. This distinct profile was associated with genomic carbohydrate-active enzymes, rather than monosaccharides composition among Through comparative transcriptomics genetical manipulation, validated that polysaccharide locus PUL34_Bu enabled uniformis (i.e. glucomannan). In addition, found GH26 enzyme allowed plant-derived mannan. Overall, our results revealed selective provided insights into use engineering microbiome. authors characterize species, revealing variability responses, which they link differences enzymes.

Ginsenosides, the main components isolated from Panax ginseng, can play a therapeutic role by inducing tumor cell apoptosis and reducing proliferation, invasion, metastasis; enhancing immune regulation; reversing multidrug resistance. However, clinical applications have been limited because of ginsenosides' physical chemical properties such as low solubility poor stability, well their short half-life, easy elimination, degradation, other pharmacokinetic in vivo. In recent years, developing ginsenoside delivery system for bifunctional drugs or carriers has attracted much attention researchers. To create precise treatment strategy cancer, variety nano systems preparation technologies based on ginsenosides conducted (e.g., polymer nanoparticles [NPs], liposomes, micelles, microemulsions, protein NPs, metals inorganic biomimetic NPs). It is desirable to design targeted achieve antitumor efficacy that not only cross various barriers but also enhance regulation, eventually converting application. Therefore, this review focused latest research about encapsulated modified with ginsenosides, unification medicines excipients improving drug bioavailability targeting ability. addition, challenges new methods were discussed support development these agents use treatment.

Panax ginseng, as the king of Chinese herb, has significant therapeutic effects on obesity, type 2 diabetes mellitus, fatty liver disease, colitis, diarrhea, and many other diseases. This review systematically summarized recent findings, which show that ginseng plays its role by regulating gut microbiota diversity, could also regulate transformation ginsenosides. We conclude characteristics in microbiota, potential targets to prevent treat metabolic diseases, neurological cancer, Ginseng treatment can increase some probiotics such Bifidobacterium , Bacteroides Verrucomicrobia Akkermansia reduce pathogenic bacteria Deferribacters Lactobacillus Helicobacter against various Meanwhile, Eubacterium were found be key for ginsenoside vivo . Overall, microbiome further affect synthesis secondary metabolites, well promote ginsenosides improving absorptivity provide better insight into interaction with multiple disorders transformation.

Ginseng is a very commonly used natural product in the world, and its two main species are Asian ginseng American ginseng. an adaptogenic botanical that reportedly protects body against stress, stabilizes physiological processes, restores homeostasis. Previously, different animal models contemporary research methodologies have been to reveal ginseng’s biomedical activities systems linked mechanisms of actions. However, human clinical observation data on effects attracted more attention from general public medical community. In this paper, after introduction phytochemistry species, we review positive studies, mainly conducted developed countries, performed over past 20 years. The reported presented several sections, conditions impacted by include diabetes; cardiovascular disorders; cognition, memory, mood; common cold flu; cancer fatigue well-being; quality life social functioning, etc. Administration demonstrated good safety record humans. Although encouraging beneficial obtained data, using study treatment regimen, only ranged mild moderate. Nonetheless, these could be valuable add-on therapy for patients receiving standard drug treatments. Additionally, as dietary supplement, possesses important role maintaining promoting health. We believe future trials should improved, particularly providing detailed herbal control information. With solid effectiveness well-designed, carefully executed trial, meritoriously medicine will widely consumers patients.

This study aimed to investigate the ameliorative effect of polysaccharides Panax quinquefolius (WQP) on ulcerative colitis (UC) induced by dextran sulfate sodium (DSS) in mice and explore its mechanism. Male C57BL/6J were randomly divided into control group (C), model (DSS), positive mesalazine (100 mg/kg, Y) group, low (50 L), medium M) high dose (200 H) WQP groups. The UC was free drinking water with 2.5% DSS for 7 days. During experiment, general condition observed, disease activity index (DAI) scored. conventional HE staining used observe pathological changes mice’s colon, ELISA method detect levels interleukin-6 (IL-6), IL-4, IL-8, IL-10, IL-1β tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α) colon. gut microbiota detected high-throughput sequencing; concentration short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs) determined gas chromatography; expression related proteins Western blot. Compared showed a significantly lower DAI score an alleviated colon tissue injury. In middle- high-dose groups, pro-inflammatory cytokines IL-6, TNF-α colonic decreased ( P <0.05), while IL-4 IL-10 increased <0.05). 16S rRNA gene sequencing results that different doses could regulate composition diversity improve structure. Specifically, at phylum level, H relative abundance Bacteroidetes Firmicutes compared which closer case C. Ulcerative colitis (UC) is regarded as a recurring inflammatory disorder of the gastrointestinal tract, for which treatment approaches remain notably limited. In this study, we demonstrated that ginseng polysaccharides (GPs) could alleviate development dextran sulfate sodium (DSS)-induced UC reflected by ameliorated pathological lesions in colon. GPs strikingly suppressed expression levels multiple cytokines, well significantly inhibited infiltration cells. Microbiota-dependent investigations virtue 16S rRNA gene sequencing, antibiotic and fecal microbiota transplantation illustrated prominently restored intestinal microbial balance predominantly through modulating relative abundance Lactobacillus. Additionally, remarkably influenced tryptophan metabolites, diminished permeability strengthened barrier integrity via inhibiting 5-HT/HTR3A signaling pathway. Taken together, promising therapeutic potential on hinges capacity to suppress cytokines influence Lactobacillus metabolites.
