Chaga (Inonotus obliquus) is an increasingly used natural product in botanical dietary supplements, valued for its bioactive compounds. However, inconsistent standardized analytical methods raise concerns over authenticity, mislabeling, and quality control. This study employs a multi-analytical approach to differentiate wildcrafted chaga canker from North American particularly those containing mycelia fermented grain products. High-Performance Thin-Layer Chromatography (HPTLC), Liquid with Evaporative Light Scattering Detection (LC-ELSD) or Photo/Diode Array (LC-PDA/DAD), Chromatography-Quadrupole Time-of-Flight Mass Spectrometry (LC-QToF-MS), Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) spectroscopy, UV-Vis spectrophotometry, iodine-starch assays were evaluate key markers, including triterpenoids, polysaccharides, melanin. Whole contained triterpenoids (inotodiol, trametenolic acid) phenolics, like osmundacetone, while melanin absorbance at 500 nm differentiated it β-Glucan quantification confirmed starch-rich composition grains absence authentic canker. NMR fingerprinting LC-QToF-MS metabolomics demonstrated stark compositional deviations between canker, I. obliquus mycelium, By integrating complementary techniques, we establish framework that can reliably distinguish genuine misrepresented products, ensuring consumer safety fostering trust the functional mushroom, mycelium markets.

The purpose of this review is to provide information on the nutritional value mushrooms and how preserve that quality after harvest. Mushrooms contain a variety vitamins minerals, including B, C, D, are low in calories high fiber (iron, phosphorus, copper, potassium selenium). Consuming may help prevent or treat serious health conditions like cancer, diabetes, cardiac diseases. protein cholesterol. After being harvested, mushrooms' continues deteriorate, showing signs discoloration, moisture loss, texture changes, an increase number microorganisms, nutrient flavor loss. Maintaining postharvest extending shelf life requires preservation techniques, such as physical, chemical, thermal processes. To its during post-harvest, there steps must be taken, precooling refrigeration, washing with hydrogen peroxide, citric acid, sodium erythorbate, calcium chloride, edible coating Aloe vera, apple peel powder, carboxymethyl cellulose, lecithin, tartaric modified atmosphere packages, use high-quality packaging materials polypropylene. can kept fresher for longer by steeping canning. Researchers, farmers, academics interested mushroom cultivation product diversification could benefit from review.

Type 2 diabetes mellitus is a global disease that endangers human health, and the need for development of nontoxic treatment candidates urgent. In present work, one homogeneous polysaccharide from Inonotus obliquus (IN) was isolated, protective effect mechanism IN on type were investigated aspects intestinal barrier. mainly consisted 9 monosaccharides with Mw 373 kDa. attenuated body weight loss, alleviated pathological damage, suppressed production proinflammatory cytokines. Additionally, repaired barrier by upregulating expression Ki-67, ZO-1 MUC2. Furthermore, abundance Firmicutes significantly increased treatment, while levels Bacteroidetes inhibited. conclusion, protected against ameliorating dysfunction might serve as novel drug candidate mellitus.

Shiitake mushrooms are renowned for their popularity and robust nutritional value, susceptible to spoilage due inherent biodegradability. Nevertheless, because of lack protection, these have a short shelf life. Throughout the post-harvest phase, experience persistent decline in quality. This is evidenced by changes such as discoloration, reduced moisture content, texture changes, an increase microbial count, depletion nutrients flavor. Ensuring postharvest quality preservation prolonging mushroom life necessitates utilization techniques, including physical, chemical, thermal processes. review provides comprehensive overview deterioration processes affecting quality, covering elements loss, alterations, increased It also explores key factors influencing processes, temperature, relative humidity, water activity, respiration rate. Furthermore, delves into recent progress preserving through techniques drying, cooling, packaging, irradiation, washing, coating.

Muscle-invasive bladder cancer (MIBC) is a common form of BC in dogs. Adjuvant chemotherapy administration commonly applied MIBC cases, but patients sometimes experience treatment failure and recurrence. Therefore, supplements with anticancer properties, such as traditional Chinese medicines (TCMs), are required, they have been widely used Japanese human medicine may be useful veterinary medicine. Furthermore, organoid cultures can mimic the characteristics their original tissues, self-renewal organization. We previously established novel experimental model for using dog (DBCO) culture. Herein, we examined antiproliferative effects mechanisms 39 substances, consisting TCMs, TCM supplements, crude drug extracts, on DBCOs. Among D3 (also known Shibe-ria), which mixture chaga (Inonotus obliquus) notoginseng (Panax notoginseng), significantly diminished cell viability The expression stem markers, CD44 SOX2, was reduced considerably D3-treated components D3, exerted an effect DBCO, whereas did not. also volume DBCO xenografted tumors mice vivo. Overall, benefits natural supplement
