Abstract Materials derived from metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) have demonstrated exceptional structural variety and complexity can be synthesized using low‐cost scalable methods. Although the inherent instability low electrical conductivity of MOFs are largely responsible for their uptake catalysis energy storage, a superior alternative is MOF‐derived metal‐based derivatives (MDs) as these retain complex nanostructures while exhibiting stability conductivities several orders magnitude higher. The present work comprehensively reviews MDs in terms synthesis nanostructural design, including oxides, sulfides, phosphides, nitrides, carbides, transition metals, other minor species. focal point approach identification rationalization design parameters that lead to generation optimal compositions, structures, nanostructures, resultant performance parameters. aim this provide an inclusive platform strategies process materials specific applications. Rational engineering of metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) with maximum exposed highly active facets for photocatalytic CO2 reduction is desirable yet remains greatly challenging. Herein, ultrathin Ti-MOF NH2-MIL-125 nanosheets are successfully fabricated through a facile and efficient approach relying on the precursors directly. Importantly, surfaces dominated by {110} facet, which has more sites than {001} {111}. In contrast conventional catalysts {001}, {110}, {111} facets, nanosheet material reported here exhibits remarkably high photoreduction performance affording abundant augmented photoinduced electrons. The enhanced solar conversion activity attributed to favorable distribution photoexcited electrons over all Ti in outer surface nanosheet, as revealed density functional theory simulations.

Organic transformation by light-driven catalysis, especially, photocatalysis and photothermal denoted as photo(thermal) is an efficient, green, economical route to produce value-added compounds. Applications for metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) demand their assembly into three-dimensional (3D) macroscopic architectures. The capability of sustaining structural integrity with considerable deformation is important to allow a monolithic material work reliably. Nevertheless, it remains significant challenge introduce superplasticity in 3D MOF networks. Here, we report general procedure synthesizing superplastic aerogels inspired by the hierarchical architecture natural corks. resultant MOFs exhibited excellent that can recover fully and rapidly its original dimension after 50% strain compression unloading >2000 cycles. achieved successively assembling one-dimensional (1D) two-dimensional (2D) then 3D, variety different transition metal active sites (Co-, NiMn-, NiCo-, NiCoMn-) organic ligands (2-thiophenecarboxylic acid glutaric acid). Abstract The construction of three‐dimensional (3D) covalent organic frameworks (COFs) remains challenging due to the limited types building blocks. With octahedral Ti IV complex as unit, this study reports on first 3D anionic titanium‐based COF ( Ti‐COF‐1 ) with an edge‐transitive (6, 4)‐connected soc topology. exhibits high crystallinity, superior stability, and large specific surface area (1000.4 m 2 g −1 ). Moreover, has a broad absorption band in UV spectrum optical energy gap 1.86 eV, photocatalytic activity toward Meerwein addition reactions. This research demonstrates attractive strategy for design functional COFs.
