As one of the most important key intermediates, NHC-bound acylazolium-based ionic transformations have been intensively explored in past two decades. With expeditious development NHC-catalyzed radical recent years, acylazolium chemistry has reached another level, with number relevant publications increasing significantly. However, a summary focused on acylations NHC-derived acyl azoliums classified according to mechanistic difference not reported. Multiresonance thermally activated delayed fluorescence (MR-TADF) emitters are excellent candidates for high-performance organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs) due to their narrowband emission properties. However, the inherent mechanism of regulating rate intersystem crossing (ISC) is ambiguous in certain MR-TADF skeletons. Herein, we propose a accelerating ISC B/S-based by peripheral modifications electron-donating groups (EDGs) without affecting property. The long-range charge transfer (LRCT) stems from introduced EDG leading high-lying singlet and triplet excited states. process accelerated enhanced spin–orbital coupling (SOC) between short-range (SRCT) LRCT manifolds. Meanwhile, derived MR-type SRCT state well retained as expected peripherally modified emitters. This work reveals regulation photophysical properties states provides significant theoretical basis modulating further design materials.

Acyl radicals have been generated from the decarboxylation of α-oxocarboxylic acids by using a readily accessible organic pyrimidopteridine photoredox catalyst under ultraviolet-A (UV-A) light irradiation. These reactive acyl were smoothly added to olefins such as styrenes and diverse Michael acceptors, with assistance H2O/D2O hydrogen donors, enabling easy access range ketones/β-deuterio ketones. A wide are compatible this reaction, which shows reliable, atom-economical, eco-friendly protocol. Furthermore, postsynthetic diversifications applications presented.

Herein, we report the phosphonylacylation of alkenes via visible-light-induced N-heterocyclic carbene (NHC) catalysis to afford a series γ-ketophosphonates in moderate good yields. This protocol features mild conditions, free photocatalyst, and compatibility functional groups. The excited Breslow enolate intermediate was proposed undergo single-electron transfer with oxime phosphonate generate corresponding ketyl radical phosphonyl radical.
