Since
the
seminal
report
by
Adachi
and
co-workers
in
2012,
there
has
been
a
veritable
explosion
of
interest
design
thermally
activated
delayed
fluorescence
(TADF)
compounds,
particularly
as
emitters
for
organic
light-emitting
diodes
(OLEDs).
With
rapid
advancements
innovation
materials
design,
efficiencies
TADF
OLEDs
each
primary
color
points
well
white
devices
now
rival
those
state-of-the-art
phosphorescent
emitters.
Beyond
electroluminescent
devices,
compounds
have
also
found
increasing
utility
applications
numerous
related
fields,
from
photocatalysis,
to
sensing,
imaging
beyond.

As
one
of
the

NHC-bound
acylazolium-based
ionic
transformations
have
been
intensively
explored
in
past
two
decades.
With
expeditious
development
NHC-catalyzed
radical
recent
years,
acylazolium
chemistry
has
reached
another
level,
with
number
relevant
publications
increasing
significantly.
However,
a
summary
focused
on
acylations
NHC-derived
acyl
azoliums
classified
according
to
mechanistic
difference
not
reported.
Such
detailed
classification
and
deep
analysis
provide
opportunities
for
better
understanding
history
trend
this
field.

review,
reactions

introduced.

(MR-TADF)
emitters
are
excellent
candidates
for
high-performance
organic
light-emitting
diodes
(OLEDs)
due
to
their
narrowband
emission
properties.
However,
the
inherent
mechanism
of
regulating
rate
intersystem
crossing
(ISC)
is
ambiguous
in
certain
MR-TADF
skeletons.
Herein,
we
propose
a
accelerating
ISC
B/S-based
by
peripheral
modifications
electron-donating
groups
(EDGs)
without
affecting
property.
The
long-range
charge
transfer
(LRCT)
stems
from
introduced
EDG
leading
high-lying
singlet
and
triplet
excited
states.
process
accelerated
enhanced
spin–orbital
coupling
(SOC)
between
short-range
(SRCT)
LRCT
manifolds.
Meanwhile,

MR-type

retained
as

(NHC)
catalysis

afford

series
γ-ketophosphonates
in
moderate
