Abstract A new approach to the enantiocontrolled synthesis of α‐amino ketone derivatives is disclosed by employing a decarboxylative acylation strategy. Thus, when an acyl chloride and α‐amido‐containing redox‐active ester are exposed nickel catalyst, chiral ligand, metal reductant, α‐amido ketones produced in good yield high ee. The reaction exhibits broad substrate scope, can be easily scaled up, applied dramatically simplify several known structures.

Radical reactions in water or aqueous media are important for organic synthesis, realizing high-yielding processes under non-toxic and environmentally friendly conditions. This overview includes (i) a general introduction to chemistry media, (ii) synthetic approaches in, on, with as well heterogeneous phases, (iii) of carbon-centered radicals (or deuterium oxide) activated through coordination various Lewis acids, (iv) photocatalysis (v) applications bioinspired by naturally occurring processes. A wide range chemical strategies different experimental conditions have been reviewed that lead functional group translocation transformation reactions, leading the preparation complex molecules. These results reveal how solvent/medium/reagent radical has matured over last two decades, further discoveries anticipated near future.

Abstract N ‐Heterocyclic carbene (NHC) catalyzed radical‐radical reactions have been proven to be powerful strategies for assembling ketyl‐containing compounds via single electron transfer (SET) pathway under either thermal conditions or photoredox conditions. A mild protocol for hydroacylation of enones through photosensitization acyl silanes with thioxanthone under blue light (455 nm) irradiation is reported. Brønsted acid used as a cocatalyst in the reaction. The versatility method demonstrated inter- and intramolecular product applied synthesizing an anti-HCV agent. Mechanistic insights are also provided control experiments.

Trees of the genus Sterculia produce acidic polysaccharides with high viscosity and ability to form gels in water. This work emphasized species striata uses its plant derivatives, such as seeds, fruits, stem bark, exudates. The showed prospects for industrial application (seeds protein content, fruits antioxidant potential, bark anti-inflammatory, antinociceptive, gastroprotective potential). From a physicochemical rheological point view, exudate has molar mass value; it contains uronic acid, galactose, rhamnose, xylose. gum (SSG) is highly viscous solution can thermoreversible where gelation conditions depend on purification method, acetyl groups, presence salt. Due carboxylic acid polyanionic behaving SSG allow formation polyelectrolyte complexes, which have been used drug delivery systems (DDS) encapsulate drugs antimalarial drugs, improve essential oil stability obtain films antimicrobial purposes. review contributes understanding use this biomaterial, providing basis new research different applications use, focus pharmaceutical, medical, food, environmental fields.

Abstract A photocatalytic acyl lactonization of unsaturated carboxylic acids using simple and inexpensive chlorides has been developed for a modular synthesis lactones. Significantly, the protocol could allow an efficient construction biologically important phthalide framework. The transformation be extended to wide variety acids, including substituted 2‐vinyl benzoic different types alkenoic acids. Moreover, series aroyl, heteroaroyl serve as coupling partners. Notably, functional groups MeO, F, Cl Br survive. It is believed that radicals generated from under photoredox catalysis reacted with alkenes via atom‐transfer radical addition (ATRA) triggered subsequent in process. Preliminary mechanistic investigations revealed probably proceeded through free pathway.
