As an important circulating metabolite in the body, accurate determination of glucose body fluids is very for evaluation physiological status. However, liquid chromatography–mass spectrometry (LC–MS) methods present challenges due to poor ionization combined with weak chromatographic retention. Here, a method determining salivary using LC–MS after derivation by dibenzylamine described which 3-O-methyl-D-glucopyranose was used as internal standard. Saliva samples were prepared protein precipitation, and analytes separated on polar-copolymerized C18 reversed phase column. Detection took place high-resolution orbitrap mass positive mode. The calibration function linear from 0.35 50 ng/mL. recoveries 97.82 104.51% intraday assays 98.96 106.61% interday assays. precision 0.37% 1.43% 1.33% 1.43%. limits detection quantification saliva 0.2 0.6 derivatization stored at 4 °C 25 analyzed every two days five repeats. relative standard deviations 0.09% 0.27% °C. This employed healthy male college students exercise.

Abstract Glucose plays critical roles in many human body functions, above all as a source of energy. Abnormal levels glucose are correlated to different diseases, importantly including diabetes. As such, quantification fluids is essential for health monitoring. Blood tests and, more recently, portable interstitial fluid tests, currently represent the benchmarks detection. Inconvenient invasive methods such blood pose burdens on both patients and healthcare system. In this review, noninvasive approaches measure discussed, utilizing saliva an alternative conventional samples. Techniques explored with potential enhance accuracy their associated challenges discussed.
