Mechanochemistry refers to the initiation of chemical reactions via mechanical forces such as milling, grinding, or shearing achieve transformations. As a manifestation mechanocatalysis, herein, an oxidant-free and solvent-free approach for synthesis quinazolinones (23 derivatives) benzothiazoles has been developed through stainless-steel-driven decarboxylative acyl radical generation from α-keto acids. A library 2-arylquinazolinones 2-arylbenzothiazoles prepared in moderate good yields at room temperature. Moreover, control experiments XPS studies supported reduction (by zerovalent iron) molecular oxygen abrasion balls, which promoted superoxide anion SET process.

A palladium-catalyzed decarboxylative allylic sulfonylation reaction of vinyloxazolidine-2,4-diones with inexpensive and readily available sodium sulfinates as reagents has been developed. Under the catalysis Pd(PPh3)4, a wide range γ-sulfonyl-α,β-unsaturated amides can be synthesized in good to excellent yields. The developed protocol is characterized by exclusive regioselectivity, mild conditions, broad substrate scope, functional group tolerance, suitable for gram-scale synthesis.

A successful methodology for the copper-catalyzed dehydrogenated methylsulfonylation of alkenes utilizing CH3SSO3Na in conjunction with hypervalent iodine reagents was successfully established. This method offers a practical avenue to obtain allyl methyl sulfones and alkenyl by forming C-S bonds. Using C-H bond oxidation sulfonylation strategy Bunte salts, we synthesized total twenty two compounds, including four examples deuterium-substituted molecules, demonstrated one example scale-up reaction.

An environmentally friendly and practical method for the synthesis of various vinyl sulfones was developed through direct sulfonylation alkenyl sulfonium salts with sulfinic acids. The reaction effectively triggered by combined actions milling, sunlight, photocatalysts under solvent-free conditions, offering advantages such as a short time (5-10 min), room temperature, straightforward workup procedure. Preliminary mechanistic studies suggested that sulfonyl radical may be involved in this mechanophotocatalytic transformation process.

Herein, a mechanochemically triggered C–H arylation of coumarins, quinoline-N-oxides, and uracil molecules with aryl thianthrenium salts is described. Aryl are primarily acknowledged for their expedient reusability adherence to atom economy principles. Mechanistic studies suggested that mechanical stress promoted the homolytic scission C–S bond salts, forming radical intermediate. Later, intermediate engaged in addition reaction above heterocycles, leading desired products good yields. This versatile protocol accommodates wide range functional groups facilitates synthesis bioactive compounds drug molecules.

Esters represent a vital functional group in organic chemistry and are prominently featured valuable molecules. Traditional approaches for ester synthesis from acids typically entail the use of strong toxic activating agents. Photoacid-catalyzed has recently come to fore several important transformations accruing benefits acid-based reactions under mild conditions. In this context, green sustainable method esterification is proposed wherein, Eosin Y introduced as multifunctional photoacid catalyst that can be activated with visible light catalyze carboxylic acids. The present strategy fairly broad applies cinnamic acids, α-keto phenyl propiolic scope alkyl alcohols includes examples therefore provides various building blocks pharmaceutical interest. Elaborated mechanistic studies revealed proton-coupled electron transfer (PCET) between acid might facilitate formation transient ketyl radical. This radical would subsequently undergo coupling alcohols, yielding esters good excellent yields.
