Abstract Although traditional petroleum‐based packaging materials pose environmental problems, biodegradable have attracted extensive attention from research and industry for their environmentally friendly properties. Bio‐based films, as an alternative to demonstrate significant advantages in terms of friendliness resource sustainability. This paper provides insight into the development biomass food films such cellulose, starch, chitosan, gelatine, including properties, methods preparation (e.g., solution casting, extrusion blow molding, layer‐by‐layer assembly, electrostatic spinning), applications packaging. Through these methods, analyzes how properties can be effectively tuned optimized meet specific needs. It was found that film not only possess functional antimicrobial, preservation, indication, but also continued material innovation technological improvements offer promising prospects use commercial applications. These advances could help advance global sustainable goals, while showing great potential improving safety extending shelf life. Future will further explore new functions providing additional solutions protection

The use of thermochromic pigments in food packaging offers several advantages, including improved safety, waste reduction, and temperature change monitoring. However, little is known about how chemically resilient these materials are, especially regarding optical stability, activation, mechanical integrity following exposure to acidic, alkaline, oil-based, neutral food-contact environments. This study evaluates the chemical resistance, thermal cycling effects, durability pigment–polymer blends. Thermochromic polymer samples were subjected multiple environments, repeated cycling, analysis assess degradation behavior. findings show that virgin food-grade with no pigment sustains its performance stability throughout degradation. blends experienced reduced functionality. insight into well can be incorporated intelligent despite limitations associated exposure.
