Metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) have been shown to be great alternatives traditional porous materials in various chemical applications, and they very widely studied for biomedical applications the past decade specifically drug storage. After our review published 2011 [Keskin Kızılel, Ind. Eng. Chem. Res. 2011, 50 (4), 1799–1812, 10.1021/ie101312k], we witnessed a fast growth not only number variety of MOFs but also their usage across broad spectrum fields. With recent integration molecular modeling data science approaches experimental studies, significantly accelerated positioning them as pivotal components regenerative medicine, medical imaging, diagnostics. In this review, visited diverse considering computational efforts on storage delivery, bioimaging, biosensing. We focused underlying mechanisms governing interactions between biological systems discussed both opportunities challenges field highlight potential advanced therapeutics cancer neurological diseases.

Abstract Since the Industrial Revolution, ecological damage, ecosystem disruption, and climate change acceleration have frequently resulted from human advancement at price of environment. Due to rise in illnesses, Industry 6.0 calls for a renewed dedication sustainability with latest technologies. Focused research creative solutions are needed achieve UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), especially 3, 9, 13, 14, 15, 17. A promising sustainable technology enhancing healthcare while reducing environmental effect is Metal Organic Frameworks (MOFs). MOFs perfect drug administration because their high surface areas, adjustable pore sizes, remarkable drug-loading capacities. They created by combining advanced artificial intelligence, intelligent manufacturing, quantum computing. Researchers can create functional groups or ligands that bind selectively target cells tissues, minimizing off-target effects, thanks distinct benefits families like MIL, HKUST, UiO, ZIF etc. offer targeted delivery. Combining other nanomaterials results multipurpose systems handle challenging biomedical issues. Despite its promise, there still issues MOFs’ possible toxicity long-term stability physiological settings. To advance medicinal applications, these problems must be resolved. increase usefulness medicine critically analysing limitations putting up alternatives.
