Abstract
Metabolic
regulation
is
essential
for
maintaining
homeostasis
in
response
to
fluctuating
dietary
nutrient
availability.
In
this
review,
we
explore
how
metabolic
health
can
be
affected
by
the
temporal
alignment
between
daily
behavioural
patterns
(e.g.,
eating,
physical
activity
and
sleep)
recurring
cycles
underlying
physiology
‘circadian’
rhythms).
Misalignment
within
and/or
these
lead
dysregulation,
increasing
risk
of
chronic
disease
states
such
as
obesity,
type
2
diabetes
cardiovascular
disease.
Conversely,
improved
strategically
aligning
certain
with
endogenous
rhythms
physiology.
Dietary
interventions
based
upon
reasoning
are
referred
chrono‐nutrition
strategies.
Skeletal
muscle

Summary
While
there
is
considerable
enthusiasm
for
the
translational
and
clinical
applications
of
chronobiology,
their
actual
implementation
not
progressing
as
rapidly
might
be
expected.
Here
we
discuss
possibility
that
this
may
relate
to
a
combination
conceptual,
methodological,
evidentiary
training
challenges.
These
are
compounded
by
remaining,
profound
cultural
differences
between
basic
applied
chronobiologists.
We
argue
all
these
issues
can
overcome
cross‐faculty
teaching,
time,
patience
goodwill,
together
with
set
more
formal
actions,
such
establishment
collaborative
framework
evidence
generation,
engagement
relevant
stakeholders
public
health
campaigns
based
on
already
available
evidence.

Background
—
A
growing
body
of
research
demonstrates
that
a
substantial
daily
range
light
exposure,
characterized
by
ample
daylight
followed
darkness
during
sleep,
is
essential
for
human
well-being.
This
encompasses
crucial
aspects
like
sleep
quality,
mood
regulation,
and
cardiovascular
metabolic
health.
Objective
study
characterizes
Circadian
Light
Hygiene
(CLH)
as
an
factor
in
maintaining
health,
well-being,
longevity
modern
society.
CLH
involves
adjusting
the
24-hour
exposure
dynamic
to
support
natural
sleep-wake
cycle
circadian
rhythms.
Three
major
challenges
negatively
impacting
health
are:
1)
pollution
(light
at
night,
or
LAN),
excessive
evening
nighttime
artificial
light;
2)
insufficient
daylight;
3)
irregular
patterns.
These
interacting
necessitate
systematic
approach
measurement
analysis.
Material
Methods

Abstract
Mechanisms
regulating
human
sleep
and
physiology
have
evolved
in
response
to
rhythmic
variation
environmental
variables
driven
by
the
Earth’s
rotation
around
its
axis
sun.
To
what
extent
these
mechanisms
are
operable
vulnerable
people
who
primarily
exposed
indoor
environment
remains
unknown.
We
analysed
26,523
days
of
data
from
sensors
a
contactless
behaviour-and-physiology
sensor
tracking
bed
occupancy,
heart
breathing
rate
70
living
with
dementia
(PLWD).
Indoor
light
temperature,
timing,
duration
fragmentation
as
well
timing
minimum
all
varied
across
seasons.
Beyond
effects
season,
higher
bedroom
temperature
less
bright
daytime
associated
more
disrupted
respiratory
rate.
This
sensitivity
ecologically
relevant
variations
