Engagement of parents in interventions for their children has many reported benefits. Despite recent advances conceptualisations parent engagement within child development and rehabilitation fields, there are limited understandings from a behaviour analytic account. This study aimed to understand how experience child-focused Aotearoa New Zealand. An Interpretive Description was undertaken, involving 14 semi-structured interviews with sample 15 who had experienced behavioural intervention. Four themes were developed including a) the system as environment, b) what bring, c) clinicians d) where happens. Themes presented using an analogy river ecosystem, detailing each theme comes together into intervention context, is negotiated through humble communication, working relationships, responsive approaches delivery. Findings support analysts attending antecedent conditions engagement, efforts further effective intervention, rather than prioritising focus on treatment adherence at outset The outcomes closely align other allied health literatures, offering insight related service delivery contexts.

Digital technology has changed the way healthcare is delivered and accessed. However, focus mostly on clinical aspects. This knowledge synthesis aimed to 1) Map the extent and nature of literature on capacity building in field rehabilitation for transition-age youth with disabilities (12-30 years old) 2) Describe how is conceptualized identify principles key ingredients underpinning this concept. A scoping review using JBI methodology was employed. search six databases resulted 2169 English documents; 34 were retained. Two reviewers charted analyzed data, supported by third reviewer. Inductive content analysis used ingredients. Seven documents provided explicit definitions or building. Content revealed four describing as: individualized approach real-world application fostering a preferred future 3) taking ownership change 4) an ongoing process. Six detail build capacity: flexible natural context shared responsibility use accessible information resources cultivate strengths 5) opportunities full participation 6) facilitate reflection experiences. Clinicians researchers can draw upon identified support meaningful outcomes youth.

Abstract Background There is growing interest in client engagement pediatric rehabilitation. This article investigated the psychometric properties of a measure service providers' perceptions affective, cognitive and behavioural both children with disabilities their parents rehabilitation therapy sessions. Methods Test–retest reliability Pediatric Rehabilitation Intervention Measure Engagement—Service Provider version (PRIME‐SP) was examined using ratings made by 60 providers for 77 73 parents. Construct validity known‐group technique, utilizing attending same session provider. We hypothesized that there would be significantly different, yet moderately correlated Results evidence moderate test–retest child ratings, indicative dynamicity across occasions, but also degree consistency, as aligned our expectations. Service parent were not paired t‐tests indicated higher scores than children. Conclusions The study provides preliminary to support PRIME‐SP tool document, reflect on monitor and/or engagement.
