Background/Objectives: Patients with central nervous system injuries who are hospitalized in intensive care units (ICUs) at high risk for nosocomial infections. Limited data available on the incidence and patterns of microbial colonization infection this patient population. Methods: To fill gap, we performed an electronic health record-based study 1614 chronic patients brain injury admitted to ICU from 2017 2023. Results: Among infectious complications, pneumonia was most common (n = 879; 54.46%). Sepsis diagnosed 54 patients, whom 46 (85%) were pneumonia. The only pathogen that showed association development sepsis colonized Pseudomonas aeruginosa (pneumonia: p 7.2 × 10−9; sepsis: 1.7 10−5). Pseudomonas aeruginosa biofilm formation has been considered to be an important determinant of its pathogenicity in most infections. The antibiofilm activity trans-cinnamaldehyde (TC) against P. was investigated this study. Results demonstrated that the minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) TC 0.8 mg/mL, and subinhibitory concentrations (SICs) 0.2 mg/mL below. Crystal violet staining showed at 0.05–0.2 reduced biomass 48 h a concentration-dependent mode. area TC-treated biofilms significantly declined (p < 0.01) on glass slides observed by light microscopy. Field-emission scanning electron microscopy further destroyed morphology structure. Confocal laser microscopic dispersion reduction exopolysaccharides after treatment stained with concanavalin A (Con-A)-fluorescein isothiocyanate conjugate Hoechst 33258.
