LAY SUMMARY Homelessness is a problem among female Canadian Veterans. Approximately 15% of the Veteran population female, yet Veterans constitute approximately 30% homeless population. In response, Standing Committee on Affairs has called for investigation homelessness to address this research gap. A scoping review was conducted lived experiences identify factors associated with homelessness. Healthcare workers (HCWs) and public safety personnel (PSP) across the globe have continued to face ethically morally challenging situations during COVID-19 pandemic that increase their risk for development of moral distress (MD) injury (MI). To date, however, global circumstances confer MD MI in these cohorts not been systematically explored, nor unique may exist countries explored. Here, we sought identify compare, globe, potentially injurious or distressful events (PMIDEs) HCWs PSP pandemic. A scoping review was conducted synthesize knowledge on PMIDEs select PSP. Six databases were searched, including MEDLINE, EMBASE, Web Science, PsychInfo, CINAHL, Global Health. total 1,412 articles retrieved, which 57 included this review. These collectively described experiences samples from 19 different countries, comprised almost exclusively HCWs. Given lack data, following results should be generalized populations without further research. Using qualitative content analysis, six themes describing associated with identified: (1) Risk contracting transmitting COVID-19; (2) Inability work frontlines; (3) Provision suboptimal care; (4) Care prioritization resource allocation; (5) Perceived support unfair treatment by organization; (6) Stigma, discrimination, abuse. a range emotions related PMIDEs, anxiety, fear, guilt, shame, burnout, anger, helplessness. Most PMIDE appeared shared globally, particularly ‘Risk COVID-19’ ‘Perceived organization.’ Articles within theme ‘Stigma, abuse’ represented smallest distribution all themes. Minorities' diminished returns (MDRs) refer to weaker effects of socioeconomic status (SES) indicators such as parental educational attainment and family income in generating tangible childhood outcomes for racial ethnic minorities compared the majority group, a pattern prevalent US. Our existing knowledge is minimal, however, about SES on reducing exposure trauma.To determine if there was difference between non-Hispanic whites (NHW) blacks (NHB) effect trauma among children ages 8-11 years old.In this cross-sectional study, we analyzed data from 4696 NHW or NHB American 8-11-year-old who were participants Adolescent Brain Cognitive Development (ABCD) Study. Background A link between moral injury (i.e., the psychological distress caused by perceived transgressions) and adverse mental health outcomes (AMHO) has been recently proposed. However, prevalence of exposure to morally injurious events associated risk experiencing AMHO remains understudied. Abstract Military service often requires engaging in activities, witnessing acts, or immediate decision‐making that may violate the moral codes and personal values to which most individuals ascribe. Moral injury is an emerging concept that captures the psychosocial consequences of involvement in and exposure to morally transgressive events.
