The resulted in widespread loss, devastation, destruction, is anticipated to bear significant psychological toll survivors. This study aimed investigate prevalence correlates ICD-11 posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) those living earthquake-affected areas Turkey. sample convenience 527 adults Prevalence rates gender differences exposure earthquake-related traumatic events were investigated. Moreover, PTSD computed, demographic trauma-related assessed using logistic regression analyses. Most (99.2%; n = 523) experienced at least one event, with majority experiencing multiple events. Rapid health outcome data acquisition using existing questionnaires can greatly facilitate time-sensitive research during or after a wildfire event. We aimed to develop readily available library of for self-reported outcomes serve as centralized platform researchers seeking quickly design instruments tailored their aims. In this paper, we describe the methodology used identify relevant and compile them into structured library. first followed Preferred Reporting Items Systematic reviews Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) 2020 checklist performed systematic literature review prior on exposure 1) categories associated with smoke 2) extract self-report related exposure. also secondary search questionnaire repositories additional impacts All (n=100) were organized by eight (mental = 60, respiratory 19, overall 17, sleep 10, cardiovascular 4, allergy 1, irritation (eye, throat, skin) 2, metabolic 1). The (see supplementary information) will be accompanied decision-tree framework in development, which assist future users building new that best fit study population Both forthcoming decision-support publicly accessible researchers, public agencies, other groups interested rapid response collection characterize wildfires. The European Journal of Psychotraumatology has had a long interest in advancing the science around climate change and traumatic stress. In this special issue, we include papers that responded to call area. Six major themes emerge from these together they contribute trauma adversity model mental health impacts change. We argue that, addition individual vulnerability factors, must consider (i) cumulative burden is associated with exposure ongoing change-related impacts; (ii) impact both direct indirect stressors; (iii) community protective factors. These factors can then guide intervention models recovery resilience.

BackgroundExtreme weather events are becoming more frequent and intense under changing climatic conditions. Whilst there is substantial evidence that exposure to a single related disaster detrimental for mental health, few studies have explored how multiple disasters impacts health.MethodsWe utilised 11 waves of data from the Household, Income Labour Dynamics in Australia (HILDA) Survey, yielding sample 16,629 observations 2003 individuals. Fixed effects linear regression analysis was used estimate impact experiencing on health. We tested effect modification this association by sex, rurality, employment presence long-term health condition.FindingsExposure associated with relative decrease MHI-5 score compared baseline −1.8 points (95% CI −3.4, −0.3), whereas not decline scores. There status. Unemployed individuals had moderate reduction scores when exposed (−4.3, 95% −7.0, −1.5).InterpretationFindings suggest repeat worsening outcomes. As extreme increase, these findings highlight need greater attention climate change action, interventions targeting impacted populations.FundingSuicide Prevention Australia.
