Abstract Artificial intelligence (AI) as a disruptive technology is not new. However, its recent evolution, engineered by technological transformation, big data analytics, and quantum computing, produces conversational generative AI (CGAI/GenAI) human‐like chatbots that disrupt conventional operations methods in different fields. This study investigates the scientific landscape of CGAI human–chatbot interaction/collaboration evaluates use cases, benefits, challenges, policy implications for multidisciplinary education allied industry operations. The publications trend showed just 4% ( n = 75) occurred during 2006–2018, while 2019–2023 experienced astronomical growth 1763 or 96%). prominent cases (e.g., ChatGPT) teaching, learning, research activities computer science (multidisciplinary AI; 32%), medical/healthcare (17%), engineering (7%), business fields (6%). intellectual structure shows strong collaboration among eminent sources business, information systems, other areas. thematic highlights including improved user experience human–computer interaction, programs/code generation, systems creation. Widespread usefulness teachers, researchers, learners includes syllabi/course content testing aids, academic writing. concerns about abuse misuse (plagiarism, integrity, privacy violations) issues misinformation, danger self‐diagnoses, patient applications are prominent. Formulating strategies policies to address potential challenges teaching/learning practice priorities. Developing discipline‐based automatic detection GenAI contents check proposed. In operational/operations areas, proper CGAI/GenAI integration with modeling decision support requires further studies.

From the first to fourth industrial revolutions (4IR) or Industry 4.0 (i4.0), manufacturing sector has always been at forefront of innovation and digital technology adoption. However, 4IR i4.0 comes with diverse integrated technologies that tend sweep off all old orders. This study undertakes a science mapping research on role virtual reality simulation (VRSIM) in 4IR, which reveals several roles benefits. The analysis conceptual structure relevant literature highlights contexts, applications, relevance VRSIM era, including its potent predictive modeling simulation, twin maintenance, additive 3D printing, immersive factory simulation. also offers realistic environment for human–robot collaboration different environments, such as aircraft automotive assembly lines, evaluating processes, training workers safety, assessing workers’ ergonomics production operations. active activities, increasing publications impacts attracting core sources engineering, systems, operations, information technology.

Frontline workers who offered essential services in different industries during the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic faced enormous challenges. This study presents outcome a survey that investigates employees' sentiments, perceptions, and ergonomics early childhood education while weathering storms in-person opening amidst global health crisis. The results show employees increased workload, psychological burden, heightened uncertainty about social life as raged. teaching non-teaching staff attributed workload to additional paperwork requirements worker shortages due quarantine self-isolation. Public safety became priority at preschool keep students, staff, their families safe. Despite uncertain future, were resolute career choices education. 'family advocacy' services, unit liaises with improve kids' learning outcomes, utilized virtual communication technology (e.g. Zoom Microsoft Teams) limit physical contact, which produced positive results, including significant improvement productivity, performance efficiency, quality. Most remained hopeful overcoming prevailing workplace challenges caused by pandemic.

Abstract During the Annual Operational Research Society Simulation Workshop in Worchester, UK, 2010, a panel discussion entitled “discrete‐event simulation (DES) is dead, long live agent‐based (ABS)!” was held. Subsequent debates on topic have captured interest of many professionals and researchers. This study lends credence to discourse with evidence. In January 2020, global health crisis named coronavirus disease (COVID‐19) occurred, infecting killing millions people globally, leading community lockdowns travel restrictions, bringing world standstill. Scientists scrambled for quick, practical solutions stem tide. research (OR) management science (MS) techniques, including modeling simulation, provide effective methods make COVID‐19 infection forecasts, assign/optimize intensive care unit beds, initiate healthcare management/control strategies, decision‐making. The pandemic problems offer an opportunity evaluate DES's continuous relevance potency as OR/MS technique. Utilizing bibliometric performance evaluation text analytics publications addressing various problems, results show extensive use, relevance, impact DES technique across multidisciplinary domains, medical/healthcare, social behavioral sciences, business, molecular biosciences, more. intellectual structure highlights strong collaboration among sources decision healthcare, natural, behavioral, sciences. network analysis shows contributions collaborations authors, institutions, countries. demonstrates that still alive robust, notwithstanding hype about ABS.
