Across the globe, disordered eating disorders alarmingly have increased by over 30% in general public, as characterised a wide range of eating, shape and weight concerns. Subsequent physical, functional, social, mental health issues significantly burden society, conveying various personal sufferings to affected individuals. Disordered behaviours cognitions can increase clinical severity, such anorexia nervosa bulimia nervosa. The present study critically reviewed 100 major papers on integrate theoretical underpinnings explore practical insights. review resulted identifying seven theories concerning development persistence disturbed behaviour. These include self-esteem theory, interpersonal emotion regulation executive function social neuroscience theory mind, trans-diagnostic theory. Furthermore, depression, anxiety, norms family functioning also emerged psychological correlates eating. results further suggested significant research gaps inconsistencies, including directional ambiguity between body dissatisfaction, well mixed findings pertaining mind deficits, perspective taking recognition, functioning. Prospective empirical studies should incorporate these complexities investigate underlying multiple mediation mechanisms, preferably with experimental designs longitudinal for causal explanations.

Background: Existing evidence showed that social anxiety represents a significant factor in eating disorders. However, to our knowledge, no prior study has examined the association between and drunkorexia behaviors. Objectives: The present aimed at exploring relationship behaviors, investigating resilience as moderator of this relationship. Participants were 333 adolescents young adults aged 15–24 years (Mage=18.26, SDage= 1.55; 66% females) who completed an online survey. Results: results indicated behaviors positively correlated three dimensions anxiety; however, only fear negative evaluation had predictive effect. Abstract Objective Eating disorders (EDs) represent a rising global health concern. The current study takes multivariate approach to examine psychological (i.e., perfectionism, anxiety sensitivity [AS], emotion dysregulation) and sociocultural factors body dissatisfaction) that may relate risk resilience in EDs. Methods Participants were 698 undergraduate students ( M age = 21, SD 4.02), mainly female (71%) Hispanic (61.6%), who participated an online survey assessing dysregulation, AS, dissatisfaction, eating behaviors. Results results from structural equation model analyses revealed differential associations with disordered (DE) outcomes. Self-oriented perfectionism dysmorphic appearance concerns associated increased dieting/carb restriction, desire for thinness, binging tendencies. The COVID-19 outbreak negatively affected young adults' psychological well-being, increasing their stress levels and symptoms of anxiety depression, potentially triggering health-risk behaviors. present study was aimed at investigating the impact pandemic on alcohol abuse drunkorexia behaviors among adults living in Italy.
