Abstract Drosophila suzukii is an agricultural pest that predominantly harms small fruits, having a serrated ovipositor able to pierce the skin of ripening fruits. Its oviposition preference has been studied from various aspects including chemical and physical properties substrates. However, its for certain shapes or sizes substrates not explored. In this study, we tested D. artificial with different surface curvatures using 27 strains recently established wild populations collected in Japan. We found laid more eggs on smaller radii (4.8 5.7 mm) compared larger (7.7 9.6 mm). also most preferred radius differed among strains. Drosophila suzukii (Matsumura) (Diptera: Drosophilidae) also known as spotted-wing drosophila (SWD), is a pest native to Southeast Asia. In the last few decades, has expanded its range affect all major European and American fruit production regions. Drosophila suzukii (Matsumura) or spotted wing is a worldwide invasive pest of soft- and stone-fruit production. Female D. lay their eggs in ripening fruit the hatched larvae damage from inside, rendering it unmarketable causing significant economic loss. Current methods to reduce population field primarily rely on chemical insecticides which are not sustainable long-term solution increase risk resistance developing. Abstract The spotted wing drosophila (SWD) is supposed to show only two distinct seasonal phenotypes: the dark, diapausing winter morph (WM) and light, reproductively active summer (SM). It unclear if these phenotypes result from a true developmental switch or expression of extreme continuous thermal reaction norms. This study aims investigate this question by examining traits across range temperatures. Using 12 temperatures (8 30 °C), we assessed including viability, growth, morphology, cold tolerance, metabolic rate, ovarian maturation. Gradual increases in temperature induced gradual changes all traits, indicating classical nonlinear Low (14 °C below) produced flies with extended development, dark color, larger size, increased reduced metabolism, delayed oogenesis, characteristic WM. Given months required for emergence egg maturation at cold, generations SWD may develop discrete environments resulting an apparent biphenism. Abstract Background Predicting the potential habitat of Phytolacca americana, a high-risk invasive species, can help provide scientific basis for its quarantine and control strategies. Using optimized MaxEnt model, we applied latest climate data, CMIP6, to predict distribution risk zones their change patterns P . americana under current future (SSP126, SSP245, SSP585) conditions, followed by invasion analysis. Results The predictions model based on R language optimization were highly accurate. A significantly high area 0.8703 was observed working characteristic curve (AUC value) subject kappa value 0.8074.
