Abstract
Introduction
Twitter
data
have
been
used
to
surveil
public
sentiment
about
tobacco
products;
however,
most
tobacco-related
research
has
conducted
with
English-language
posts.
There
is
a
gap
in
the
literature
on
discussions
languages
other
than
English.
This
study
summarized
Spanish
Twitter.
Methods
A
set
of
terms
reflecting
electronic
cigarettes
(eg,
"cigarillos
electrónicos"),
“pitillo”),
and
cigars
“cigaro”)
were
identified.
content
analysis
tweets
(n
=
1352)
drawn
from
2021
was
performed
examine
themes
sentiment.
An
initial
codebook
developed
English
then
translated
back
by
bilingual
(Spanish
English)
member
team.
