Abstract Human societies depend on services provided by ecosystems, from local needs such as clean water and pest control to global like the ozone layer ocean biological pump. Ecosystem are linked states of ecosystem, which are, in turn, governed a web ecological interactions. These interactions, along with they support, under threat environmental changes driven human activities. Therefore, safeguarding these vital requires an understanding how structure dynamics interactions affected change. A critical step towards this goal is development theoretical framework that can elucidate ecosystem sustained or impaired within ecosystems fluctuating environments. The Anthropocene is characterized by accelerating change and global challenges of increasing complexity. Inspired what some have called a polycrisis, we explore whether the human trajectory complexity influence on Earth system could become form trap for humanity. Based an adaptation evolutionary traps concept to context, present results from participatory mapping. We identify 14 categorize them as either global, technology or structural traps. An assessment reveals that 12 (86%) be in advanced phase trapping with high risk hard-to-reverse lock-ins growing risks negative impacts well-being. Ten (71%) currently see trends their indicators. Revealing systemic nature assess often interact reinforcingly (45% pairwise interactions), rarely dampening fashion (3%). end discussing capacities will important navigating these pursuit sustainability. The necessity of making reliable decisions is exceptionally important in the field sustainable development, particularly when evaluating management renewable energy sources. A thorough analysis becomes imperative complex decision problems where various factors influence outcomes. Multi-Criteria Decision Analysis (MCDA) methods have emerged as valuable tools for addressing such challenges, enabling decision-makers to navigate through conflicting criteria and make informed choices. Combined with sensitivity approaches, comprehensive assessments can be achieved, ensuring robustness decision-making processes. To increase reliability results, different aspects input data fluctuations should examined provide a broader view stability results. This paper proposes multi-dimensional approach assess source (RES) development selected European countries. By RES terms electricity consumption generation, study addresses key components development. It offers holistic perspective on result by analyzing five dimensions: comparative four MCDA methods, varying weights scenarios, probabilistic modifications, relevance identification, ranking stability. enhances providing insights policymakers prioritizing technologies. provided open-source implementation promotes transparency accessibility support systems.

Despite the increasing volume of research exploring impact various characteristics urban green spaces (UGS) on land surface temperature (LST), findings remain inconsistent, particularly in arid climatic zones. In this research, we examined UGS change and their analyzed relationship between pertinent variables vegetation biomass, area, shape patches LST Karaj city, an Iranian semi-arid area 2000 2020. Linear regressions were used to model patches’ LST. The results showed that biomass was more effective reducing comparison with complexity. Moreover, larger higher complexity lower temperatures. These can guide landscape optimization by providing a clear understanding which factors contribute most significantly mitigation areas. For instance, areas identified as but thermally not cold need be prioritized for improvements such planting denser or introducing heat resilient species.

Humans greatly influence the ecosystems they live in and lives of a wide range taxa share space with. Specifically, human hunting harvesting has resulted many species acclimating via diverse behavioral responses, often quite rapidly. This review provides insights into how can elicit changes. These responses emerge from species’ previous evolving ability to assess risk imposed by hunters respond accordingly; predator–prey game thus ensues, where both players may change tactics over time. Urbanization in one of the more important phenomena affecting biodiversity Anthropocene. Some organisms can cope with urban challenges, and changes birds’ acoustic communication have been widely studied. Although timing daily organization previously reported, there is a significant gap regarding possible variations song structure between dawn dusk choruses. Considering that urbanization potentially imposes different soundscapes for choruses, we postulate two hypotheses: i) are “natural” parameters ii) such within city will vary response to noise. We studied extra-urban populations Chiguanco Thrush La Paz, Bolivia, measuring their choruses: length, sound pressure, minimum, maximum, range dominant frequency, proportion songs produced. The results support our natural conditions were louder larger bandwidths, city, frequency entire rises along increasing amplitude. Understanding structural choruses could allow better interpretation how some bird species challenges.
