Sustainability has become part of agri-food supply chain management via short-, medium- and long-term strategies that balance different economic, social environmental performance functions. However, within the chain, events known as risks are generated. These obstacles to achieving sustainability. Purpose This paper aims to explore three operations and supply chain management (OSCM) approaches for meeting the 2 °C targets counteract climate change: adaptation (adjusting climatic impacts); mitigation (innovating towards low-carbon practices); carbon-removing negative emissions technologies (NETs). We suggest that nor may be enough meet current targets, thus calling NETs, resulting in following question: How can chains reconceptualized NETs? Design/methodology/approach draw on sustainable transitions discourses along with interview data involving 125 experts gathered from a broad research project focused geoengineering NETs. analyze case studies of emerging NETs (biochar, direct air carbon capture storage ocean alkalinity enhancement), leading propositions link between OSCM Findings Although some are promising, there remains considerable variance uncertainty over configurations, efficacy, social acceptability potential risks unintended detrimental consequences. introduce concept transformative OSCM, which encompasses policy interventions foster emergence new industry sectors driven by mandates but lack clear commercial incentives. Purpose This study employs the actor-partner interdependence model (APIM) to examine how supplier and buyer artificial intelligence capability orientations (AICO) differentially influence supply chain resilience (SCR), while considering moderating effect of dependence asymmetry. Design/methodology/approach Analyzing 818 supplier-buyer dyadic pairings from China Stock Market & Accounting Research (CSMAR) Database annual report data, we constructed a supplier–buyer model. Findings Results reveal that when suppliers have advantage, their AI orientation positively impacts both parties’ resilience, buyers’ shows no significant effect. Conversely, buyers hold affects suppliers’ has impact. Originality/value research illuminates complex interplay among orientation, SCR resource dependence, offering novel insights into dynamic shifts in roles during disruptions. The findings provide framework for developing effective strategies highlight AI’s critical role navigating global complexities.

In the face of increasing environmental concerns, market volatility, and global disruptions, imperative for sustainable resilient supply chains has never been more pronounced. This study aims to explore relationship between implementation chain management (SSCM) practices achieved level resilience (SCR) within context Egyptian manufacturing firms. Employing a quantitative approach that includes analysis survey data from 396 firms, this reveals SSCM are significantly correlated with enhanced SCR, suggesting sustainability-oriented strategies crucial building chains. research contributes literature in several ways. First, it adds existing knowledge about SSCM-SCR general, developing countries context, specific. Second, adopts new operationalization by merging social economic single factor separating supplier internal practices. Third, provides empirical evidence supporting role implementing enhancing SCR context. Thus, offers practical insights managers, aiming fortify their against disruptions while concurrently advancing sustainability goals. It suggests firms can benefit integrating environmental, economic, into operations. integration competitive edge chains, thus ensuring business continuity reducing vulnerability external shocks.

In times of disruption, a company’s ability to manage its supply chain effectively can determine success or failure. This paper explores the extent which strategic partnership development, mediated by digital transformation, enhances effectiveness during such periods. A mixed methods approach was used, involving surveys and interviews with professionals from Saudi Arabian manufacturing sector. The study’s findings reveal that transformation partnerships work synergistically together enhance resilience effectiveness, resulting in improved operational agility adaptability. Four key enablers were identified: inter-business coordination, leadership, technological culture, recruitment management. These insights contribute significantly our understanding how businesses build resilient chains uncertain environments.
