Abstract
Childhood
maltreatment
and
intimate
partner
violence
(IPV)
victimization
are
major
psychiatric
risk
factors.
Maltreatment
substantially
increases
the
likelihood
of
subsequent
IPV
victimization,
but
what
drives
this
association
is
poorly
understood.
We
analyzed
retrospective
self-reports
in
12,794
participants
(58%
women,
42%
men)
from
Twins
Early
Development
Study
at
ages
21
26
using
quantitative
genetic
methods.

Abstract
Childhood
maltreatment
(CM)
has
been
related
to
social
functioning
and
cognition
impairment
in
people
with
psychotic
disorders
(PD);
however,
evidence
across
different
CM
subtypes
domains
remains
less
clear.
We
conducted
a
systematic
review
meta-analysis
quantify
associations
between
CM,
overall
its
(physical/emotional/sexual
abuse,
physical/emotional
neglect),
of
adults
PD.

moderators

Introduction
Interpersonal
problems
are
a
transdiagnostic
risk
factor

the
development

maintenance

Maltreated
youth
are
a
particularly
vulnerable
group
that
often
contends
with
multifaceted
mental
health
challenges,
especially
symptoms
of
posttraumatic
stress
and
depression.
Emotional
dysregulation
may
have
central

linking
victimization
to
psychopathology
