Implant restoration, a predictive procedure for edentulous areas, can suffer from early failure due to several factors. While thorough debridement of the extraction socket is standard practice implant placement, unintentional remnant occur. This case report presents an following placement and guided bone regeneration. Radiological examination revealed radiopaque material around implant, prompting removal subsequent biopsy. The histological analysis identified area surrounding as granulation tissue containing chronic inflammatory cells, while hard exhibited hypercementosis or periapical cemento-osseoeous dysplasia. These findings suggest into previous extraction. highlights importance after tooth Moreover, pre-implant radiological evaluation necessary avoid associated with unintentionally retaining lesion.

Abstract Objective To compare the clinical outcomes of extra‐short implants (≤6.5 mm) inserted with one‐stage versus two‐stage technique in adjacent sites upper or lower jaw. Materials and Methods In this split‐mouth multicenter study, were randomly divided into two groups according to healing phase: technique. Primary outcome measures implant survival, success, prosthodontic complications. Secondary measurements were: stability quotient (ISQ) collected at surgery time (T0), after 3 (T3) 12 (T12) months, marginal bone level (MBL) evaluated T0, T3, T6, T12, loss T6 plaque index (PI), probing depth (PD), bleeding on (BoP) T12. Significances differences between tested by linear mixed model random intercept. Results Nineteen patients ( 8 males 11 females) included. A total 38 inserted. At T12 cumulative survival success rate 100% both groups. No statistically significant recorded for any analyzed parameters point. ISQ values similar T0 (two‐stage: mean 67.53 ± SD 19.47; one‐stage: 66.53 19.07 p = 0.8738) increased 12‐month follow‐up appointment 81.1 7.04; 81.39 0.9266). MBL was 0.46 0.41 (two‐stage) 0.45 0.38 (one‐stage) mm 0.9417), while PD 2.7 0.85 2.69 0.89 mm. Conclusions Within limits present short‐term report, demonstrated optimal using technique, without compared traditional approach.

In the placement of dental implants, primary fixation between implant and bone is great importance corresponds to compressive mechanical that aims prevent micromovement implant. The aim this research was determine role roughness type (tissue-level or bone-level) in stability, measured using resonance frequency analysis (RFA) insertion torque (IT). We analyzed 234 titanium placed fresh calf ribs, at half-tissue level half-bone level. surface subjected grit-blasting treatments with alumina particles 120, 300, 600 μm a projection pressure 2.5 bar, resulting three types roughness. Roughness determined via optical interferometry. wettability surfaces also determined. Implant stability high-precision torquemeter obtain IT, RFA used quotient (ISQ). results show rough Sa values 0.5 4 do not affect stability. However, important; bone-level implants obtained highest values. A good correlation IT ISQ demonstrated. New vivo studies are necessary know whether these can be maintained long term.

The present article aims to describe the management of a malpractice dental implant case in patient with history oral bisphosphonates (BF) intake (alendronic acid every 15 days for 20 years) and perform narrative review recently published articles (2019–2023) on topic. A female rehabilitated 18 nails mandible years ago underwent two surgeries; first one included explantation nails; second insertion implants anterior region. At last follow-up (21 months from surgery one) no complications nor episodes bisphosphonate-related osteonecrosis jaw (BRONJ) were highlighted. Furthermore, 12 recent topic reported was performed. Based analysis, related patients BF seems remain controversial. Most findings highlight how evidence both safety treatment possibility foresee risk onset based preoperative factors seem be scarce. described did not report any BRONJ. The aim of the present observational study was to investigate application transmucosal tissue-level implants in immediate loading full-arch rehabilitation with different variables associated.Patients needing a implant were recruited and rehabilitated four tissue level implants. Data related implants' diameters lengths, jaw distributions, presence angulated abutments collected. following outcomes evaluated: survival rate, marginal bone loss (MBL), Plaque Index (PI), bleeding on probing (BoP), depth (PD). Descriptive statistical analysis reported univariate linear regression models built assess significant correlation between MBL factors.Twenty patients for total number 80; 11 rehabilitations performed maxilla, while 9 mandible; 48 presented 3.8 mm diameter 32 4.25 diameter. Implants length varied 10 15 mm; 40 tilted connected abutment, straight directly prostheses (no abutments). At one year follow-up visit no failed resulting an rate 100%. overall 1.19±0.30 mm. No statistically difference (P>0.05) highlighted among any subgroups analyzed.Despite associated, seem represent valid option when applied rehabilitation. Background: The aim of the present multi-center split-mouth randomized control trial was to investigate effect on peri-implant tissue abutment with chromium nitride/ niobium nitride (CrN/NbN) coatings (superlattice) compared traditional machined surface. Methods: Two adjacent posterior implants were inserted in 20 patients. A randomly screwed either mesial or distal implant, while a superlattice other one. Implant survival rate, probing depth (PPD), plaque index (PI), and bleeding (BI) collected 6 months after surgery, marginal bone loss (MBL) evaluated at T0 T6.; Results: rate 97.7%. total MBL 0.77 ± 0.50 mm recorded for abutments, mean 0.79 0.40 PPD 1.3 0.23 Group, 1.31 0.3 surface Group. Observing mechanical response implant, abutment screw, both evaluated materials resulted homogeneous could be indicated for implant-supported restorations with fixtures. However, aiming decrease strain tissue, placing implant sub-crestal position is preferable option; while supra-crestal placement decreases at screw implant.

Dental trauma is a serious and highly prevalent health issue across the globe. Most of frequent dental injuries result in loss teeth affects overall quality life. The tooth usually compensated by implant. common methods adopted while placing implant are platform switching matching. A plethora works has studied qualitative performance these different situations clinically. However, detailed comparative work studying in-depth mechanical parameters not been attempted yet. In this computational work, two commonly available platform-switched one platform-matched implant-abutment configurations were compared. 3D model an (5.5 × 9.5 mm) was designed inserted into human mandibular bone block using computer-aided design (CAD) extracting clinical imaging data. Three separate models such as Platform Switched (PS)-I, 5.5 mm with 3.8 wide abutment, (PS)-II, 4.5 Matched (PM), 5.5-mm abutment analyzed. Clinically relevant vertical-, horizontal-, oblique-type occlusal loadings applied to each characterize response. Mechanical von Mises stresses, deformations, strain energies obtained finite element modeling (FEM). These showed lower values for within peri-implant that may help limit marginal loss. same increasing more implant, screw configuration than configuration. framework, along results, anticipated guide clinicians medical practitioners making better decisions selecting methods.
