ABSTRACT Objectives To evaluate the treatment of peri‐implant mucositis (PM) using a nonsurgical submarginal instrumentation (NSPI) with or without chlorhexidine (CHX) solutions. Methods Fifty‐six patients (28 per group) were randomly assigned to test (NSPI + 0.12% mouthwash and subgingival CHX irrigation plus tongue brushing 1% gel) control group placebo gel). At baseline, 1, 3, 6 months, bleeding on probing (BOP), pocket depth (PPD), modified gingival index (mGI), plaque (mPlI), full‐mouth score (FMPS), (FMBS), proportions Aggregatibacter actinomycetemcomitans , Porphyromonas gingivalis Tannerella forsythia Treponema denticola recorded. The BOP reduction was set as primary outcome. Data analyzed assess at 6‐month follow‐up identify significant predictors implant‐site through mixed generalized linear regression. Results After months in both groups, BOP, PD, mPlI, mGI, FMBS, FMPS noted ( p < 0.05). However, more effective than controls reducing median (∆values control/test: 39.3% [95% CI 37.4–42.3] vs. 48.7 46.5–51.2], = 0.044), well mPlI 0.041) proportion 0.039). Moreover, implant‐sites significantly influenced by 0.001), history periodontitis 0.003), high number cigarettes/day 0.002), 0.021) 0.032). Conclusions NSPI showed better results compared reduction. T. negatively PM‐treated patients.

N-terminal portion of the B-type natriuretic propeptide (NT-proBNP) has potentially been shown to play an important role in development periodontitis and cardiovascular disease (CVD). This study evaluated efficacy periodontal treatment on NT-proBNP related CVD biomarkers explored whether subjects harboring high at baseline showed increased clinical benefits with non-surgical performed full-mouth scaling root planing (FM-SRP) 6-month follow-up.

Aims: This in silico study aimed to investigate the effect of implant–abutment contact surfaces on stress generation Morse taper implants under oblique loading. Materials and methods: Three-dimensional finite element models Bone-Level Tissue-Level were simulated with Standard Partial contacts between abutment implant. The dimensional parameters followed ISO 14801 guidelines, an load 300 N was applied implants. von Mises acquired. Results: design showed a significant difference level when connection implant, abutment, screw Partial. For implant fixture, screw, 13% more did not affect overall 42% lower than for fixture. However, there connection. In contrast, this less evident higher peaks entire set. Conclusion: To achieve optimal outcomes, it is highly recommended use original abutments, as they provide precise fit. notably compared Furthermore, contacting areas significantly reduced concentration, especially designs. By choosing well-fitting one can ensure stable durable performance stress.

Objective: The aim of the study is to evaluate stress distribution zirconia-reinforced lithium silicate all-ceramic fixed partial dentures under occlusal loading; in terms material, restoration, and supporting type. Methods: Six different models were analyzed; tooth-supported anterior crown, posterior 3-unit bridge, implant-supported crown bridge. Milling pressable used each model. Structural analyses simulated with finite element analysis vertical oblique loading von Mises minimum principal stresses. Results: Tooth-supported restorations showed lower values than forms same restoration. Stresses higher distributed over a larger surface compared loading. Overall stresses generated on single bridge models. Implant-supported model shows highest stress. However both milling didn’t make difference concentration areas. Conclusion: mechanical behavior was influenced by type direction force, number units. However, no significant found between ceramic restorations.

Peri-implant diseases, such as peri-implant mucositis and peri-implantitis, are induced by dysbiotic microbiota resulting in the inflammatory destruction of tissue. Nonetheless, there has yet to be an established protocol for treatment these diseases a predictable manner, although many clinicians researchers have proposed various modalities their management. With increase number reports evaluating efficacy new materials, use multiple decontamination methods clean infected implant surfaces is recommended; moreover, hard tissue laser and/or air abrasion techniques may prove advantageous future. Limited evidence supports additional effects on clinical improvement antimicrobial administration treating peri-implantitis. Implantoplasty justified decontaminating supracrestal area. Surgical employed advanced appropriate surgical methods, resection therapy or combination therapy, should selected based bone defect configuration. This review presents recent advances debridement contaminated regenerative materials defects. It also proposes flowchart guide decisions disease.

Methods Studies examining assessment of endothelial function through latest were analyzed. Systematic reviews, observational studies, clinical trials English language identified using PubMed, Web Science, Google Scholar databases key search terms such as “periodontitis,” “endothelial (ED),” “arterial stiffness,” “periodontal therapy.” Results Several mechanisms are involved association between CVD. The players bacteria their toxins, which can enter circulation infiltrate blood vessel walls. increase proinflammatory molecules interleukins chemokines, c-reactive protein, fibrinogen, oxidative stress also plays a decisive role. In addition, an parameters ED, arterial stiffness, atherosclerosis, carotid intima-media thickness, pulse wave velocity, flow-mediated dilatation, has been shown patients. Conclusions literature today agrees on positive role therapy systemic inflammatory indices outcomes. Hopefully, extended provide comprehensive understanding CVD-periodontitis link from perspective personalized medicine approach periodontology.

Objectives: This randomized, placebo-controlled, double-masked clinical trial aimed to evaluate the and microbiological efficacy of professional mechanical plaque removal (PMPR) with or without adjunctive application piperacillin plus tazobactam gel in treatment peri-implant mucositis (PiM) for up 6 months. Materials Methods: The study included 31 patients (bleeding on probing (BoP) > 1 at least one site baseline, absence bone loss compared a previous radiograph). After randomized assignment test control groups, received full-mouth supragingival scaling gel. Clinical examination was performed baseline after 3 months, Results: six both modalities resulted significant reductions improvements parameters implant sites. Neither group achieved complete resolution PiM (i.e., BoP ≤ per implant). number implants decreased statistically significantly between subsequent time points (p < 0.001) group. Significant differences = 0.039) were observed groups months (difference baseline) following therapy. Conclusions: Within limitations present study, single use slow-release, locally applied antibiotic combination gel, PMPR, showed an improvement variable diagnosed PiM. higher reduction when control, but no regarding changes other parameters.
