This study aimed to investigate the association between serum calcium levels and periodontitis in a U.S. adult population, using data from National Health Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) 2009-2014. Data were analyzed 8,601 participants aged over 30 years, who categorized based on presence or absence of periodontitis. Serum measured standardized NHANES protocols, status was determined through clinical oral examinations. To assess relationship periodontitis, multivariate logistic regression models applied across three adjustment. Additionally, trend tests subgroup analyses conducted explore associations different demographic subgroups. A smoothing curve fitting threshold effect analysis also performed examine potential nonlinear relationships. After adjusting multiple covariates, highest quartile showed an 18% reduced risk compared those lowest (OR = 0.82, 95% CI: 0.71-0.95, p 0.0083; for 0.0057). The remained stable various Smoothing indicated negative correlation though without significant inflection point at 2.48 mmol/L (p 0.094). Elevated appear be associated with lower adults. These findings suggest that adequate intake may play role prevention, providing valuable insight guidance nutritional preventive strategies periodontal health.

Due lack unique clinical features, OMS difficult distinguish from other types rhinosinusitis. Besides, characteristic pathogeny makes it resistant conventional therapies Its current diagnosis and treatment are thus facing great difficulties. The multi-disciplinary cooperation between otolaryngologists dentists absolutely urgent settle these questions acquire standardized diagnostic regimen for OMS. However, this disease has received little attention been underrepresented by relatively low publication volume quality. Based on systematically reviewed literature practical experiences expert members, our consensus focuses characteristics, symptoms, classification OMS, further put forward decisions as well common complications relative managements. Alveolar bone resorption caused by bacteria‐induced periodontitis remains challenging due to sustained inflammation. Periodontal pathogens like Porphyromonas gingivalis launch the primed signal of NOD‐like receptor family pyrin domain‐containing 3 (NLRP3) inflammasome in macrophages; consequent overproduction proinflammatory cytokines and reactive oxygen species (ROS) leads tissue destruction. This provides potential targets for a new therapeutic strategy. Herein, multifunctionalized dual‐crosslinked hydrogel pGM/cPL@NI with NLRP3 inhibitor MCC950 loaded is prepared. Driven strategic functionalization gelatin methacryloyl ε ‐poly‐lysine phenylboronic acid catechol, respectively, containing dynamic photo‐crosslinking networks demonstrates superior mechanical strength stimuli‐responsive behavior, as well overwhelmed performance bacteria killing ROS scavenging. Crucially, restores compromised osteogenesis specifically suppressing cytokine cascade triggered activation promoting anti‐inflammatory polarization macrophages. Collectively, presents robust an effective “cocktail therapy” combining antibacterial, antioxidant, inflammation resolution, regenerative functions. The present study reveals underlying mechanism bacterial‐immune‐regeneration extended approach periodontal engineering.

Periodontitis is an inflammatory disease caused by bacterial biofilms, which leads to the destruction of periodontal tissue. Current treatments, such as mechanical cleaning and antibiotics, struggle effectively address persistent inflammation, tissue damage. A new approach involves developing a Janus nanomotor (J-CeM@Au) coating cerium dioxide-doped mesoporous silica (CeM) with gold nanoparticles (AuNPs). This exhibits thermophoretic motion when exposed near-infrared (NIR) laser light due temperature gradient produced photothermal effects asymmetrically distributed AuNPs. The NIR provides energy for propulsion activates nanomotor's antibacterial properties, allowing it penetrate biofilms kill bacteria. Additionally, ability scavenge reactive oxygen species (ROS) can modulate immune response create regenerative environment, promoting healing Overall, this multifunctional offers promising treating periodontitis simultaneously addressing biofilm management modulation autonomous movement.

The primary pathology of periodontitis involves the gradual deterioration periodontal tissues resulting from inflammatory reaction triggered by bacterial infection. In this study, a novel drug for pocket injection, known as Shed-Cu-HA hydrogel, was developed incorporating copper ions (Cu2+) and Shed-derived exosomes (Shed-exo) inside hyaluronic acid (HA) hydrogel. Suitable concentrations Cu2+ Shed-exo released enhanced cell viability proliferation human ligament stem cells. Additionally, demonstrated remarkable antibacterial effects against key pathogen (Aa) owing to synergistic effect HA. Furthermore, material effectively suppressed macrophage response via IL-6/JAK2/STAT3 pathway. Moreover, Shed-Cu-HA, combining inflammation-regulating properties HA with osteogenic activity Cu2+, upregulated expression genes proteins associated differentiation. experimental findings mouse model that administration reduced extent infiltration infections in gingival facilitated regeneration bone collagen after 2 4 weeks injection. Consequently, it holds significant prospects future applications treatment.

Aim: Noncontained (1‐ or combined 1‐ to 2‐wall) periodontal intraosseous defects represent challenging clinical situations with unpredictable surgical therapeutic outcomes. This randomized trial assessed demineralized freeze‐dried bone allograft (DFDBA) low speed‐platelet‐rich fibrin (PRF) membrane compared DFDBA collagen (CM) in the therapy of noncontained stage III periodontitis patients. Methodology: Twenty‐two patients measuring ≥3 mm and attachment loss ≥5 were randomly allocated into two groups: test group (low‐speed PRF + DFDBA) control (CM DFDBA), 11 participants per group. Clinical radiographic assessments conducted at baseline, 3, 6, 9, 12 months for level (CAL; primary outcome), gingival recession depth (GRD), probing (PD), full mouth bleeding score (FMBS) plaque (FMPS), fill linear defect (RLDD; all secondary outcomes). Results: The mean (±SD) CAL‐gain was 2.45 (±1.51), 2.91 (±1.70), (±1.87), 2.82 (±1.83) mm, while (±1.25), 3.27 (±1.27), 3.00 (±1.41), 2.64 (±1.50) months, respectively, no significant intergroup differences ( p > 0.05). Despite absence differences, both groups demonstrated intragroup improvement CAL‐ PD‐gain, RLDD‐reduction as well RLDD < Conclusion: membranes, conjunction DFDBA, show parameters, comparable CMs DFDBA.
