Several papers deal with a conservation genetics gap in which plant and restoration managers or practitioners do not soundly integrate population information into management. Authors concerned about this issue point out that perceive genetic research results to be impractical unnecessary the short term due time financial constraints. In addition, researchers often fail translate findings comprehensive, jargon-free recommendations effectively. If possible, conservation-related conservation-oriented articles should easily written bridge research–implementation gap. Finally, based on previously published prioritization framework for scenarios, we introduce four simple categories by exemplifying each case. We hope could employ these suggested guidelines of population- species-level

Dipentodon sinicus Dunn. (Dipentodonaceae) is a rare and threatened relict plant species usually found co-dominating with other plants in subtropical forest patches highly fragmented habitats of southwestern China, northern Vietnam northeastern Myanmar East Asia. To date, its management conservation strategies the light climate change have not been explored. We evaluated effects on distribution climatically suitable areas D. as prevailing during last glacial maximum (LGM), mid-Holocene present time, predicted 2070 throughout The results derived from ecological niche modeling (ENM) show current to be limited prehistoric (the LGM) refugia, indicate decreasing probability presence reducing range for 2070. In addition, high (0.5–1) only account average 9.8% total area potential (threshold‒1) among models year 2070, thereby indicating that vulnerable. Under all future scenarios 69–74.2% China would outside protected areas. assess propose priorities areas, provide suggestions strategies.

In order to study the genetics of local adaptation in all main deserts northwest China, whole genomes 169 individuals were resequenced, which covers 20 populations Zygophyllum loczyi (Zygophyllales: Zygophylaceae). We describe more than 15 million single nucleotide polymorphisms and numerous InDels. The expected heterozygosity PIC values associated with varied significantly across biogeographic regions. Variation environmental factors contributes largely population genetic structure Z. loczyi. Bayesian analysis performed STRUCTURE defined four clusters, while results principle component similar. Our shows that Qaidam Desert group appears be diverging into two branches characterized by significant geographic separation gene flow neighboring deserts. Geological data assume it is possible Taklamakan was original distribution site, could have migrated later on expanded within other desert areas. above findings provide insights processes involved biogeography, phylogeny, differentiation China.

Plant invasions have a huge impact on the health of ecosystems and human well-being. The invasion risk varies with introduction pathway, propagule pressure, genetic diversity founding population. We performed systematic review meta-analysis 30 studies reporting 31 plant species in their invasive native ranges. evaluated if patterns differ between ranges whether these responses are influenced by life-history traits, hybridization, polyploidization, habitat condition. found that populations had significantly lower higher inbreeding than populations. In fragmented degraded habitats, invaders was lower, but not affected. Polyploid hybrid capacity also showed diversity. Invasive herbs vegetative propagation were more sensitive to loss levels inbreeding. Our synthesis response invaded range could result from historical processes, such as founder bottleneck events. Traits selfing likely preserve signatures events influence Additionally, clonality seems be predominant reproduction system range.
