Cyclic vomiting syndrome (CVS) is a disorder characterized by recurrent and unpredictable episodes of intense vomiting, interspersed with periods apparent wellbeing. This disorder, which primarily affects children adolescents but can persist into adulthood, has recently been the subject extensive study analysis in medical literature. The aim present review to examine most important aspects epidemiology, pathophysiology, subtypes, diagnostic criteria, current management CVS. Even though exact etiology remains unknown, genetic factors (polymorphisms), nervous system alterations autonomic dysregulation, environmental (use abuse cannabinoids) are postulated as possible triggers. CVS significant challenges, given that there no specific test for confirming its presence. Thorough evaluation symptoms ruling out other causes required. Aims This article explores the potential of wearable sensors enhance understanding autonomic nervous system (ANS), particularly its role linking psychological function. The ANS, facilitates brain‐gut communication responsive psychosocial conditions. It implicated disorders related stress gut‐brain interaction. enables tracking ANS daily life, offering complementary alternative methods from traditional lab‐based measures. review places focus on metrics such as respiratory sinus arrhythmia, vagal efficiency, electrodermal activity well self‐reports symptoms. Discussion Potential applications include use for disorder interaction cyclic vomiting syndrome, which dysregulation may be triggered by factors. Treatment strategies for migraine attacks include the use of nonspecific drugs (simple and combined analgesics, antiemetics) specific (triptans, ergotamine derivatives, gepants, ditans), as well neuromodulation methods. The perioperative management patients with CVS undergoing general anesthesia challenging, especially when combined obesity. This case report describes the successful patient obesity who underwent dental surgery under anesthesia. A 21-year-old woman CVS, (body mass index, 35), intellectual disability was scheduled for tooth extraction composite resin restoration diagnosed at age 20 years frequent attacks requiring hospitalization. Surgery during remission to reduce risk Preoperative laboratory test results were normal, including serum adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH), anti-diuretic (ADH), cortisol levels. General induced using remifentanil propofol. Nasal endotracheal intubation performed after rocuronium administration. Local (2% lidocaine 1:80,000 epinephrine) used all procedures. Postoperatively, midazolam administered control agitation. No postoperative occurred. Serum ACTH, ADH, levels showed no significant changes before anesthesia, suggesting that hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis activation due surgical stress did not occur. highlights importance careful planning monitoring stress-related in or An anesthetic approach may effectively suppress HPA prevent
