Abstract Periodontal diseases, a group of complex conditions marked by an excessive immune response and periodontal tissue destruction, are global health concern. Since 1990, the incidence these diseases has doubled, with Western sub‐Saharan Africa experiencing highest burden. Accurate diagnosis case identification crucial for understanding etiology, features disease, research, treatment prevention. Modern perspectives on disease classification based commonality among those affected. However, current literature is often plagued methodological inconsistencies focused mechanisms in European populations. Health inequalities low‐ middle‐income countries (LMICs) exacerbated challenges, Africa, Nigeria specifically, facing unique difficulties such as clinical personnel shortages limited research infrastructure. This review explored disparities care outcomes African We highlighted identified factors contributing to inequities outcomes. further demonstrated critical need inclusive equitable healthcare practices tailored challenges faced diverse populations regions resources. Abstract To provide a comprehensive and updated mapping of observational studies assessing the relationship between periodontitis systemic diseases through bibliometric visual analysis. A search was conducted using Web Science database, covering period 1989 to 2024. The Medical Subject Headings (MeSH) from US National Library Medicine used categorize conditions, focusing on terms unrelated stomatognathic diseases. analysis included keyword co‐occurrence mapping, co‐authorship, bibliographic coupling, co‐citation Quality indicators such as silhouette score, modularity, centrality were considered assess network's quality. research strategy identified 6106 records, which 1519 met inclusion criteria. revealed that 46.73% literature topic published in last 5 years annual publication trend peaked 2023. Abstract The complex preparation, weak wet tissue adhesion, and limited biological activity of traditional oral wound dressings usually impede their efficient treatment healing for diabetic mucosal defects. To overcome these problems, a novel hydrogel adhesive (named CFT hydrogel) is rapidly constructed using one‐step method based on dual‐dynamic covalent cross‐linking. Compared with the commercial patches, shows superior in vivo (rat tongue) adhesion performance. Additionally, exhibits unique acid‐responsive properties, thereby facilitating release bioactive molecule tannic acid acidic microenvironment. And series vitro experiments substantiate favorable biocompatibility bioactivity properties (including antibacterial, antioxidative, anti‐inflammatory, angiogenetic effects) exhibited by hydrogel. Moreover, conducted rat model defects demonstrate that significant efficacy protecting against wounds, alleviating inflammatory reactions, wound‐healing process. Taken together, this study provides promising comprehensive therapeutic option great potential clinical management mucosa patients.

Periodontitis is a disease of inflammation that affects the tissues supporting periodontium. It triggered by an immunological reaction gums to plaque, which leads destruction periodontal attachment structures. one most commonly recognized dental disorders in world and major factor loss adult teeth. Scaling root planing remain crucial for managing patients with persistent periodontitis. Nevertheless, exclusive reliance on mechanical interventions like surgery, extractions, planning insufficient halt progression In response problem bacterial resistance, some researchers are committed finding alternative therapies antibiotics. addition, scholars focus new materials provide powerful microenvironment tissue regeneration promote osteogenic repair. Stage IV periodontitis is characterized, apart from high severity / complexity (attachment loss, radiographic bone and deep probing depths), loss of multiple teeth or alterations the masticatory function. Periodontitis stage patients are often characterized by pathologic tooth migration, drifting, flaring, including posterior bite collapse, secondary occlusal trauma. These act as factors not only for management periodontitis, but also prognosis whole dentition, majority these present malocclusions that require interdisciplinary treatment with orthodontics. However, complex requires coordination between periodontal orthodontic specialist, while needs to be appropriately adjusted specificities adult periodontally-stable severely reduced periodontium. The aim paper discuss patients, conditions need met start, treatment-related considerations pertaining appliance choice mechanotherapy, well post-treatment maintenance protocols ensure long-term stability results. Finally, an updated systematic review meta-analysis presented summarizes clinical evidence on effect combined periodontal-orthodontic pathological migration.

ABSTRACT Objective This cross‐sectional study aimed to investigate the salivary profile of inflammatory mediators in individuals with periodontal and peri‐implant disease as compared health. Materials Methods Saliva samples were collected from 155 participants (mean age 63.3 ± 11.4 years), comprising health ( N = 41), gingivitis and/or mucositis 18), periodontitis peri‐implantitis 96). Samples analyzed using multiplex‐immunoassay panel consisting tumor necrosis factor (TNF), interferon (IFN), interleukin (IL) superfamily, matrix metalloproteinases. Results The levels B‐cell activating (BAFF), sIL‐6Rβ, IFN‐β, sIL‐6Rα, sTNFR1, Pentraxin‐3 significantly higher patients healthy subjects. Furthermore, among investigated mediators, exhibited highest diagnostic potential (AUC 0.74) for distinguishing between subjects individuals. Conclusions Our findings demonstrated elevated BAFF, sTNF‐R1, comparison controls.
