The aim of the present systematic review and meta-analysis was to assess effect mechanical debridement (MD) with without adjunct antimicrobial photodynamic therapy (aPDT) for treatment peri-implant diseases in obese patients. focused question is "Is MD adjuvant aPDT more effective than alone treating patients?" Indexed databases were searched time language barriers up including February 2025. Various keywords used different combinations using Boolean operators. A forest plot generated visually results meta-analysis. risk bias (RoB) within studies assessed GRADE analysis performed. Three randomized controlled trials (RCTs) included. number participants ranged between 49-80 individuals. Patients test control groups underwent aPDT, respectively. In two studies, periimplantitis treated one, performed treat mucositis. Follow-up from 3-6 months. All RCTs showed that MD+aPDT alone. RoB high unclear one RCTs, intervention provided a favorable outcome experimental intervention. certainty evidence low, strength recommendation weak all RCTs. Role as an populations remains unclear.
