Summary
In
the
management
of
insomnia,
physicians
and
patients
are
seeking
alternative
therapeutics
to
sleeping
pills,
in
addition
sleep
hygiene
cognitive
behavioural
therapy.
Bright
light
therapy
(LT)
has
proven
its
efficacy
circadian
mood
disorders.
We
conducted
a
systematic
literature
review
meta‐analysis
according
Cochrane
PRISMA
guidelines
using
databases
Medline,
Cochrane,
Web
Science,
with
special
focus
on
insomnia.
Twenty‐two
studies
total
685
participants
were
included,
five
which
high
level
proof.
Meta‐analysis
was
performed

for
insomnia
compared
control
conditions
significantly
improved
wake
after
onset
(WASO:
SMD

Orexin
is
a
neurotransmitter
produced
by
small
group
of
hypothalamic
neurons.
