Abstract Background Sexual dreams represent a largely underexplored domain of human experience, particularly concerning their prevalence, frequency, and potential relationship with mental health conditions. Understanding this interplay may provide insights into the psychological physiological effects dream content. Aims To investigate impact sexual among individuals without diagnoses to evaluate associations between post‐dream symptoms, status. Materials & Methods The SLEEP Study surveyed 301 female‐identifying adults in United States using an online questionnaire. questionnaire assessed frequency content dreams, as well symptoms such anxiety, increased heart rate, muscle tension. Logistic regression Pearson correlation analyses were conducted examine relationships diagnoses, symptoms. Results 99.67% participants reported experiencing 45.2% identifying them frequent. A significant association was observed frequent (OR = 1.83, p 0.018). While anxiety physical tension common, correlations treatment weak not statistically ( 0.061). Discussion findings suggest that serve stress indicator, However, highlights need for further investigation mechanisms underlying these associations. Conclusion Frequent could valuable health. Incorporating patterns assessments enhance clinical understanding interventions. Further research involving diverse populations experimental methodologies is required broader implications.

Pre-sleep worrying is associated with sleep disturbance, which in turn impaired affective wellbeing. However, studies examining the fine-grained temporal order of these variables are still lacking. In particular, within-person mediation association between pre-sleep and following day's wellbeing by subjective objective indicators has not been tested yet. This study investigates extent to predicts positive/negative affect day, whether subjective/objective disturbances possible mediators for this relationship. Data from two experience sampling were pooled analyses, resulting a total sample 220 participants aged 18 30 years (M = 23.2 years, SD 2.8). The hypotheses at both between- within-subject level using causal analysis. analyses revealed partial relationship positive as well negative next day quality. By contrast, measured actigraphy appears be relevant link day. Baseline levels depressive symptoms did moderate associations worrying, indices states Improving perceived quality addressing could potential avenue enhance promote better mental health young adults.

Sleep disturbances are common in patients with borderline personality disorder (BPD) and associated a poor prognosis symptom severity. Research findings on sleep abnormalities individuals BPD have been inconsistent, limited evidence linking subjective objective measures. We compared 44 women 41 healthy controls. examined differences (using ANCOVAs ordinal logistic regression) associations correlations) between assessment (polysomnography) measures (Consensus Diary, Insomnia Severity Index, Pittsburgh Quality Index). explored predictors of insomnia patients, including severity, symptomatology, comorbid conditions, medication use, via standard least squares regressions ANOVAs. A total 22% had clinically significant (cut-off ≥ 15), 85% reported mild (subthreshold) > 10) (Insomnia Index; ISI), 94% quality (PSQI 5). Compared those HC, PSG results revealed longer duration bed, period, REM latency, wake after onset Stage N1 duration, shorter N2 and, age, more arousals awakenings. The correlations were weak both groups. In BPD, greater degree predicted reduction time increased awakenings PSG. Clinical emotional reactivity dysregulation, depression symptoms, posttraumatic stress alexithymia, presleep arousal patients. Our study confirmed high rates which contrasted relatively minor alterations. severity symptomatology BPD. is neglected yet important characteristic the phenotype, warranting attention future research clinical guidelines.

Summary We collected measures of sleep architecture and nightmares from participants ( N = 61) wearing the DREEM 3 headband across 2 weeks data collection to test hypothesis that there are bidirectional links between insomnia (measured as disturbance) nightmare events. Nightmares were predicted by increased disturbance night before nightmare, but not on same or nights before. also found occurrences did predict following nights, rather at between‐subjects level only. suggest associated with an N3 rebound a disturbance.
