Abstract
Strawberries
spoil
rapidly
after
harvest
due
to
factors
such
as
the
ripening
process,
weight
loss,
and,
most
importantly,
microbial
contamination.
Traditionally,
several
methods
are
used
preserve
strawberries
and
extend
their
shelf
life,
including
thermal,
plasma,
radiation,
chemical,
biological
treatments.
Although
these
effective,
they
a
concern
from
perspective
of
safety
consumer
acceptance
treated
food.
To
address
issues,
more
advanced
environment‐friendly
technologies
have
been
developed
over
past
decades,
modified
controlled
atmosphere
packaging,
active
biopolymer‐based
or
edible
coating

To
support
the
search
for
alternative,
nonchemical
plant
disease
control
strategies,
we
present
a
review
of
pathogen-suppressive
effects
biochar,
product
derived
from
agricultural
and
other
organic
wastes,
used

soil
amendment.
