This European Academy of Allergy and Clinical Immunology (EAACI) guideline provides recommendations for the management IgE-mediated food allergy was developed using Grading Recommendations, Assessment, Development Evaluations (GRADE) approach. Following confirmation diagnosis, allergen avoidance dietary advice (with support a specialised dietitian, if possible) together with provision written treatment plan, education on recognition allergic symptoms prescription medication including adrenaline an auto-injector are essential. Patients significant anxiety requirement coping strategies may benefit from clinical psychologist. As immunomodulatory interventions, omalizumab is suggested in children age 1 adults; oral allergen-specific immunotherapy recommended adolescents peanut milk egg allergies (generally after 4 years egg). Sublingual epicutaneous but not yet available at point care. Future research into disease modifying treatments highly needed, standardised patient-focused protocols outcomes.

It is necessary to evaluate the parental ability achieve nutritional adequacy while avoiding allergens for children with food allergies (FA), yet this area currently understudies. Our study aimed develop and validate Parental Self-Efficacy Scale Dietary Management of Children Food Allergies (PSED-FA). PSED-FA was developed through a literature review semi-structured interviews refined by panel five allergists dietitians, validated using responses from caregivers FA. The construction tool involved exploratory factor analysis (EFA), confirmatory model fit, evaluation internal consistency Cronbach's alpha. Convergent divergent validity were assessed average variance extracted (AVE), maximum shared (MSV), (ASV). Participants included nine focus interview groups, 114 individuals in validation group. Egg whites (55.2%), tree nuts (35.2%), peanuts (22.8%) most common allergens. EFA identified three factors: preparing allergen-free meals, knowledge nutrition management, management restrictions. goodness fit our met all criteria. showed high (overall alpha: 0.902) criteria both convergent (AVE >0.5) > MSV ASV). This reliable effective assessing self-efficacy managing dietary needs can aid health professionals evaluating confidence identifying areas improving

Background/Objectives: Pediatric patients with non-IgE-mediated gastrointestinal food allergies (non-IgE-GIFAs) may experience alterations of nutritional status. This non-randomized, prospective intervention study investigated the impact dietary counseling on status in pediatric non-IgE-GIFAs. Methods: Patients both sexes aged 0–14 years newly diagnosed non-IgE-GIFAs received provided by certified dietitians immediately after diagnosis. Nutritional parameters were assessed to identify at baseline and 12 months (T12). Results: The included 100 (58% male, mean age 8.5 ± 8.8 months). Non-IgE-GIFAs phenotypes protein-induced enteropathy (FPE, 44%), enterocolitis syndrome (FPIES, 11%), allergic proctocolitis (FPIAP, 17%), motility disorders (FPIMD, 28%). At diagnosis, 1% was affected obesity (1 FPIAP), 5% overweight (2 FPE, 1 FPIAP, 2 FPIMD), 7% moderately underweight (5 FPE severely FPE), stunted (4 16% wasted (11 FPIES, 3 4% FPIMD). T12, improvements anthropometric observed, along a reduction prevalence malnutrition excess (6% diagnosis vs. 2% T12) undernutrition subtypes rate, including underweight, stunting, wasting (26% 3% p < 0.001). Conclusions: can negatively patients. Thus, could be an effective strategy for preventing managing these

Breastfeeding is the most important nutrition source for infants. However, managing breastfed infants with signs and symptoms related to food allergy can be difficult. Many studies have shown presence of different allergens in breast milk, but clinical role these antigens human milk still much debated. Milk main suspect exclusively attributable allergy, even if other foods may responsible. This narrative review analyzes recommendations provided by international guidelines determine diagnosis management IgE-mediated non-IgE-mediated allergies Dietary restrictions lactating mothers suspected FA are usually not necessary. Only very few cases where significant occur infant during exclusive breastfeeding should mother follow an elimination diet a short period.

Background/Objectives: Food protein-induced allergic proctocolitis (FPIAP) is a non-IgE-mediated food allergy, usually presenting as bloody stools in breastfed, well-appearing, and regularly growing infants. The aim of our study was to describe the clinical features Italian infants affected by FPIAP their management natural history real-life setting. Methods: A retrospective, observational performed at two tertiary pediatric hospitals (Florence Trieste), including FPIAP-diagnosed between 2012 2022. Results: Most 100 enrolled patients were breastfed (68.0%), majority those who underwent diagnostic tests (n = 51) showed normal hemoglobin total IgE levels. maternal elimination diet 69.0%, mostly for milk only, but 40.6% multiple diets. remission rate high both (76.8%) received extensively hydrolyzed formula (81.8%). Nine subjects left on free diet, six lost follow-up. median time complete 30 days (IQR 14–60). Culprit reintroduction tolerated age 8 months 6–11), ladder modality (for hen’s egg cow’s milk) 61.7%. relapsed (14.3%) upon with no associated variables identified regression analysis. relapse slightly higher when trigger attempted > 12 (16.7%) versus <12 (13.0%). Conclusions: In population, had, expected, benign evolution. early suspect gradual manner leads good tolerance within first year most patients, avoiding unnecessary
